Can filing bankruptcy stop IRS from taking my tax refund? Need advice ASAP
For the past 3 years the IRS has been taking my refund because of old taxes I owe. I heard bankruptcy might stop them from doing this and maybe even get rid of my old tax debt. Has anyone gone this route or know if it actually works? I'm desperate at this point and need some real advice.

Tax resolution specialist here - Bankruptcy CAN discharge some tax debts, but there are strict rules. The taxes must be income taxes, at least 3 years old, and you must have filed returns at least 2 years before bankruptcy. Chapter 7 or 13 could work, but you need to talk to a bankruptcy attorney who specializes in tax issues. Don't try this without professional help - you could make things worse.
