Any 02/19 filers? Movement or DDD yet?

I filed on 02/19 and I know it's still pretty early in the game, but I'm getting antsy. First tax season post-divorce and I need to get this show on the road! šŸ˜… Anyone else file around the same time seeing any movement or (dare I dream) gotten direct deposit dates? Just trying to get a sense of the timeline this year.

Here's what I'm seeing for February filers this year: 1. First, check your acceptance date, not your submission date 2. Most February filers are seeing 21-25 day processing times 3. If you claimed certain credits (EITC, ACTC), add another 1-2 weeks 4. Check your transcript for cycle codes - these indicate which processing batch you're in 5. WMR updates typically come after transcript updates I filed 2/15 and just got my DDD yesterday. Such a relief after watching that processing bar for weeks!

I also filed mid-February and I'm still waiting. Did you notice any pattern with the transcript updates? Mine hasn't changed at all since acceptance and I'm wondering if that's normal at this point.

Did you file with any credits or deductions that might delay processing? I filed on February 10th and got my refund on March 3rd, but my sister filed on February 17th with EITC and is still waiting. The IRS processing schedule this year seems unusually variable compared to previous years.

I claimed the Child Tax Credit since I got primary custody in the divorce. Guess that's probably slowing things down. Thanks for pointing that out - helps to know what might be causing the delay.

Tax processing is like waiting for a bus in the rain - you never know exactly when it's coming, but it feels like forever when you're standing there getting wet. I filed with credits too and I'm still in the waiting room with everyone else.

Idk about everyone else but my return with CTC has been stuck since 2/12. WMR still on first bar. Transcript says N/A. Beginning to think they've forgotten about Feb filers completely tbh.

According to the IRS2Go app and their refund status page, returns with certain credits are subject to additional review timeframes. The PATH Act specifically delays certain refunds until mid-February, but processing continues well into March and April for many filers.

I might be able to offer a suggestion that helped me last year when my refund seemed stuck. I was waiting for almost 5 weeks with no updates, and I was getting really worried. I eventually used Claimyr (https://youtu.be/_kiP6q8DX5c) to reach an actual human at the IRS. I think I waited maybe 30 minutes instead of the usual hours of busy signals. The agent was able to tell me exactly where my return was in processing and when I could expect it. It might be worth considering if you don't see movement in the next week or so.

Does that service actually work? I've tried calling the IRS directly multiple times and either get disconnected or told the wait time is 2+ hours. Seems fishy that a third-party service could somehow get priority access.

You might want to try checking your tax transcript rather than just the WMR tool. In my experience, the transcript usually updates before WMR does, and it often provides more detailed information about where your return is in the process. You can access it through the IRS website if you have an account set up, or you can request one by mail if necessary. It's probably still a bit early though - I typically see movement around the 3-week mark for relatively straightforward returns.

I've been using taxr.ai to monitor my transcript (filed 2/15) and it's been super helpful: ā€¢ It explained all those confusing codes on my transcript ā€¢ Showed me exactly where my return was in processing ā€¢ Predicted my refund date accurately ā€¢ Alerted me when my transcript updated Might be worth checking out if you're trying to make sense of all this tax stuff. My first post-divorce filing too, and it made the whole process less stressful.

According to Internal Revenue Manual 21.4.1, the IRS has a 21-day statutory period to issue refunds, but the PATH Act extends this timeline for returns claiming EITC or ACTC. I filed 2/18 and just received my deposit this morning. The IRS is currently processing early-to-mid February returns in batches, with priority given to simple returns without credits. If you filed on 2/19, you should see movement by next week at the latest, unless there are verification issues or identity concerns that require manual review.
