Amendment never received by IRS - Tax examiner says electronic filing caused delay after 16 weeks
Filed my amendment in July and just found out why its taking forever. Tax examiner said they never got it because it was filed electronically instead of faxed or mailed. She just forwarded it to processing but im already at 16 weeks waiting. Anyone else dealing with this?

Tax pro here - This is actually a common issue in 2025. The IRS systems sometimes don't properly register e-filed amendments. Always get a confirmation number and screenshot when you submit. For now, since it's been forwarded to processing, expect another 8-12 weeks.
