Amended return shows taxes owed after TaxSlayer correction - removed fuel credit, added W2 and education credits
Filed an amendment to fix errors from my tax preparer. They missed my education credits and a W2, plus wrongly claimed fuel credit. IRS advocate told me to amend but now its showing I owe money? How can I owe money I never got in the first place?

Tax professional here. When you amend a return, your entire tax situation gets recalculated. The fuel credit removal plus additional W2 income could result in owing taxes, even with education credits. You need to compare your original AGI with the amended one to understand the change.
