Filed my taxes and got assigned to cycle 04. Been checking WMR and my transcripts like crazy but nothing is updating. Anyone know what day and time cycle 04 usually updates? Getting anxious about this refund.
Getting really frustrated trying to file my 2023 taxes. Every time I try submitting, it gets rejected saying my AGI is wrong. How can it be wrong when I never even filed for 2023 yet? Makes no sense. I received this rejection notice from the IRS that says: 1. Get your 2023 tax return Form 1040 2. Look for your AGI on Line 11 3. Enter your AGI and resubmit your return Learn more about your AGI mismatch. Fix my return My 2024 tax return shows: $9,697 refund Submitted 01/31/25 Rejected 02/03/25 IRS Refund est. / / - I don't understand why there's an AGI mismatch. I've triple-checked everything! The system says I need my 2023 AGI from Line 11 of my previous year's return, but that's exactly what I'm trying to file now! How can they ask for information from a form I haven't successfully filed yet? I've tried entering zero, I've tried looking at my 2022 return, nothing works. Has anyone else encountered this problem? What am I missing here? The rejection is preventing me from getting my $9,697 refund and I'm getting desperate.
Filed my taxes on January 17th and got acceptance confirmation on the 21st. When I check Where's My Refund it says it cant find my information. Im putting everything in exactly like my return shows. Today I tried checking again and got a screen that says "Taxpayer info - We couldn't find your account. Please make sure the info you entered is correct and try again or visit help.sbtpg.com for assistance." I double-checked my SSN that I entered, verified the Federal/State refund amount I'm expecting, confirmed my filing status, and selected "2024 (Latest Tax Year)" from the dropdown menu. I even passed the "I'm not a robot" reCAPTCHA verification, but it still won't let me view my refund status. This is so frustrating! I hit the "View refund status" button and keep getting the same error message. There's a note at the bottom about "Questions about prior year tax filings?" but this is for my current year taxes that I just filed. Has anyone else experienced this issue with the SBTPG (Santa Barbara Tax Products Group) portal? Is there something I'm missing? I'm wondering if there's a delay in their system or if I should be contacting the IRS directly instead of using this portal.
Filed my taxes 2 weeks ago and IRS says accepted but when I check my transcript its completely blank. WMR just says processing. Anyone else dealing with this? Starting to get worried since I need this refund.
I keep seeing everyone talking about cycles and cycle codes but I have no idea what that means. Just filed my taxes for the first time and trying to figure out whats going on with my refund. Can someone explain what these cycles are about and how to find mine? I'm looking at my Account Transcript from the IRS and it shows all these codes and cycle numbers that I don't understand. Here's what my transcript shows: Internal Revenue Service United States Department of the Treasury Request Date: 02-04-2025 Response Date: 02-04-2025 Account Transcript FORM NUMBER: 1040 TAX PERIOD: Dec. 31, 2024 ACCOUNT BALANCE: -$9,502.00 ACCRUED INTEREST: 0.00 AS OF: Feb. 17, 2025 ACCRUED PENALTY: 0.00 AS OF: Feb. 17, 2025 ACCOUNT BALANCE PLUS ACCRUALS (this is not a payoff amount): -$9,502.00 INFORMATION FROM THE RETURN OR AS ADJUSTED EXEMPTIONS: 04 FILING STATUS: Single ADJUSTED GROSS INCOME: $19,216.00 TAXABLE INCOME: $3,893.00 TAX PER RETURN: $2,685.00 SE TAXABLE INCOME TAXPAYER: $12,017.00 SE TAXABLE INCOME SPOUSE: 0.00 TOTAL SELF EMPLOYMENT TAX: $2,685.00 RETURN DUE DATE OR RETURN RECEIVED DATE (WHICHEVER IS LATER) Apr. 15, 2025 PROCESSING DATE: Feb. 24, 2025 TRANSACTIONS CODE EXPLANATION OF TRANSACTION CYCLE DATE AMOUNT 150 Tax return filed 20250602 02-24-2025 $2,685.00 30221-424-22060-5 766 Credit to your account 04-16-2025 -$3,357.00 768 Earned income credit 04-17-2025 -$8,830.00 I see there's this "CYCLE" column with the number 20250602 next to my tax return filed line. Is this my cycle code? And there's that number 30221-424-22060-5 below it. What do these numbers mean and how do I use them to track my refund? Also, what's the difference between the "Credit to your account" and "Earned income credit" lines? My total refund looks like it should be $9,502.00, but I'm not sure when I'll actually get it.
Pro tip: sign up for informed delivery with USPS. Sometimes you'll see IRS mail coming before it arrives which can give you a heads up about your return status
