IRS asking to verify 2023 return after 2 months - just got notification, waiting for letter
Filed my taxes on Feb 18 and just now getting a notification that I need to verify my tax return info. Now I have to wait for some letter in the mail. Been checking WMR daily and nothing until this. Anyone else dealing with this verification nonsense? The wait is killing me fr

Will my transcript update while waiting for IRS verification letter? Control number letter mailed 02/05
Filed my return and got accepted on 1/22. Now I'm getting a verification letter with control number mailed on 2/5. Anyone know if my transcript will still update while I'm waiting for this letter to arrive? Getting anxious about the whole situation.

This happened to me last year and I legit had my refund in my account 9 days after verifying. Just make sure you have all ur docs ready when u verify!

First Time Filer - Filed 2/4, No DDD Yet, Getting Worried
First time doing my taxes and I filed on February 4th. WMR still saying processing and no bars. Transcript just shows N/A. Getting really worried since all my friends already got their refunds. No letters from IRS either. Anyone else experiencing this or know what's going on?

Do IRS transcripts only update Thursday nights? (Cycle 05)
Looking for first hand experience only - if you're a cycle 05, has your transcript ever updated on any day besides Thursday night/Friday morning? Getting anxious checking mine everyday lol

IRS Verification Notice after acceptance - Rep says no letter sent yet. Should I keep calling?
My return was accepted on Jan 28th and got a Verify your tax return notification last week. Called IRS today and the rep said its still processing and they dont see any letter in the system yet. They just told me to wait 21 days but something feels off about that answer. Should I keep calling or what?

Verification usually means either identity or income verification. Did you start a new job in 2023? Or claim any credits like EIC?

Quick tip: when u get the letter make sure u have your last years AGI and filing status ready. They gonna ask for it during verification
