CDLE unemployment: Fired 2 months ago, no determination after fact-finding. How to speed up 'discharged' case?
I'm at my wits end with unemployment. I got fired from my job 2 months ago and I still haven't gotten any money. The fact-finding is done but there's no determination yet. I'm desperate and running out of options. Has anyone else dealt with this 'discharged' issue? How did you get it resolved? I need help figuring out how to speed up my case.

Has anyone else noticed that the unemployment website always seems to be 'under maintenance' when you need it most? It's like they're trolling us at this point.

Omg yes! And it's always at like 2am when I'm stress-checking my claim status 😅

Plot twist: there is no website. It's all just a cardboard cutout 🤯

It's frustrating when technology, which should make things easier, becomes a hurdle.

I found a way to actually get someone on the phone. I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. Here's a video explaining it: https://youtu.be/W4S1W6V2hOQ

Sounds too good to be true. Is this legit?

$20 just to talk to someone? That's highway robbery!

I know it sounds sketchy, but I swear it's legit. I was desperate and tried it. Beats spending hours on hold or calling 100 times a day. Just sharing what worked for me.

If it helps, it might be worth the cost. Consider it an investment in your peace of mind.

Have you tried faxing them? I know it sounds ridiculous in 2023, but I swear it worked for me. It's like they have one person checking the fax machine and it's faster than their email system or something.

Faxing? Are you serious? I don't even know where to find a fax machine these days lol

OMG yes! I thought I was the only one. Faxing is like their kryptonite or something. It's so dumb but it works.

There are online faxing services if you don't have access to a physical fax machine. Just Google it.

It's crazy how outdated methods sometimes bypass modern system backlogs. Worth a shot!

Claimyr can indeed help with the tedious process of unemployment. Their service is designed to connect you with an actual person at the unemployment office, which can be a significant advantage when dealing with delays or complications. However, it's always important to approach any paid service with caution. While many users have reported positive outcomes, it's crucial to weigh the cost against potential benefits, especially when funds are tight. Combining such services with other strategies, like those mentioned by others here, such as documenting your interactions, knowing your rights, and reaching out to representatives, can create a comprehensive approach to resolving your unemployment issues. Ultimately, persistence and a multi-faceted strategy are key in navigating the challenging landscape of unemployment.

have you tried turning it off and on again? 🤣 jk jk. But seriously, the system is so broken. I've been waiting 3 months for my appeal. It's like they want us to give up.

Ugh, the unemployment system is such a joke. I swear they make it complicated on purpose. Have you tried reaching out to your local representative? Sometimes they can light a fire under the unemployment office's ass.

This! 👆 My state rep's office was a game-changer. They got my case unstuck in like a week.

Contacting local reps is a great idea. Sometimes pressure from above speeds things up.

Unpopular opinion: maybe try looking for a new job while you wait? I know the job market sucks, but it might be faster than waiting for unemployment to get their act together.

Here's what you need to do to expedite your case: 1. Document everything: Keep a log of all your calls, emails, and interactions with the unemployment office. 2. Be persistent: Call them regularly, but be polite. The person on the other end isn't personally responsible for the delay. 3. Gather evidence: If you believe you were unjustly terminated, collect any emails, performance reviews, or other documents that support your case. 4. Know your rights: Research your state's unemployment laws. Knowledge is power. 5. Escalate if necessary: If you're not getting anywhere, ask to speak to a supervisor or manager. 6. Seek legal advice: If all else fails, consider consulting with an employment lawyer. Many offer free initial consultations. Remember, the squeaky wheel gets the grease. Don't give up!

This is solid advice. I'd add one more thing: prepare a concise 'elevator pitch' about your situation. When you finally get someone on the phone, you want to clearly explain your case in under a minute.

Thank you so much for this detailed response! I've been doing some of these things, but I'll definitely step up my game. The elevator pitch idea is brilliant.

I feel ya, buddy. I was in the same boat last year. It's like they want us to starve while they take their sweet time. Have you tried calling them every single day? That's what finally worked for me.
