EDD claim filed and confirmed, but no payments. What gives?

Hey everyone, I'm really frustrated right now. I filed my EDD claim and got confirmation that it was received, but I'm not getting any payments. Has anyone else dealt with this? What should I do? I tried calling but can't get through to a real person. Any advice would be appreciated!

Ugh, I feel your pain. I was in the same boat a few months ago. Have you checked your UI Online account? Sometimes there's info there about why payments are held up.

Yeah, I checked but there's nothing helpful there. Just says my claim is 'pending'. So frustrating!

Classic EDD move. They love keeping us in the dark 🙄

I had this issue too. Turns out there was a problem with my identity verification. Did you complete that step? If not, look for an email or letter from EDD about it.

Here's what you need to do: 1. Double-check all your paperwork. Make sure you didn't miss anything or make any mistakes. 2. Keep trying to call. I know it sucks, but persistence is key. 3. Check your spam folder for any emails from EDD. 4. If you have a local unemployment office, try going in person. 5. Consider reaching out to your state representative. They can sometimes help push things along. 6. Document everything. Keep a log of all your attempts to contact them. 7. Be patient (I know, easier said than done). Sometimes it just takes time. Hang in there! The system is a mess, but you'll get through it eventually.

This is great advice. I'd add: check if there are any virtual workshops or webinars hosted by EDD. Sometimes they have Q&A sessions that can be helpful.

have you tried faxing them? I know it sounds crazy but I got a response within a week after faxing my issue

At this point, I'm willing to try anything. Do you have the fax number?

I found a method to get someone on the phone. I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. Here's the link: https://claimyr.com

Sounds sketchy. Is this legit?

Totally get why you'd think that, but yeah, it's legit. I was desperate and took a chance. Saved me hours of frustration.

How long did you have to wait after using the service?

It took about 2 hours, but I just went about my day and got a call when an agent was ready. Way better than being stuck on hold myself.

Preach! 🙌 It's like they're trying to make it as difficult as possible.

Have you checked if there are any outstanding questions on your claim? Sometimes they need additional info but don't make it obvious.

I'm telling you, it's all a conspiracy to make us give up and not claim our benefits. Stay strong, don't let them win! 😤

Take off the tinfoil hat, bro. It's just bureaucracy being bureaucracy.

Anyone else notice that EDD's website always seems to be down for maintenance when you need it most? 🤔

Omg yes! It's like they know exactly when I'm gonna log in and shut it down just to mess with me 😂
