EDD callback service called Claimyr - is it legit or a scam?

Has anyone used that website where you pay and then an actual EDD rep calls you back? I swear my coworker mentioned it a few weeks ago when my claim status got stuck, but now I can't remember the name of it or find it when googling. Been trying to reach EDD for 2 days straight with no luck (either busy signal or disconnected after 2+ hours waiting). Getting desperate since I haven't received payment in 3 weeks and rent is coming up. If this service exists and actually works, I'm willing to pay whatever at this point! Anyone know what I'm talking about?

I know EXACTLY what you're talking about - it's called Claimyr and it's 100% legit. Used it about a month ago when my certification wouldn't go through and I was getting the dreaded "max callers reached" message for days. Paid their fee and got a call back from an actual EDD agent within like 2 hours. They have a video showing how it works here: https://youtu.be/JmuwXR7HA10?si=TSwYbu_GOwYzt9km. The website is claimyr.com if you wanna check it out. Totally worth it when you're desperate and can't waste anymore time calling.

OMG YES - Claimyr - that's the one! Thanks so much. Going to try this right now. Did you just get a regular EDD rep who could help with anything or someone specific to your issue?

Wait, you have to PAY to talk to EDD?? That's ridiculous! Our tax dollars already fund this government service that should be accessible to everyone. Smh the whole system is so broken if people are desperate enough to pay extra just to get what they're entitled to. 🤬

I mean yeah ideally it should be free and easy to reach them but that's not reality. When you've been trying for WEEKS and about to miss rent, the fee seems pretty small compared to getting evicted or going into debt. It's just a service that helps you skip the line basically.

I was skeptical about Claimyr at first too, but it actually does work. The way I understand it, they use an automated system to keep dialing EDD until they get through, then they connect you with the agent. Just make sure you answer your phone when they call back! The first time I missed it and had to start over.

Just wanted to add some context on why EDD is so hard to reach. They're chronically understaffed and their phone system can only handle a limited number of calls in queue. When you consider there are thousands of claimants calling simultaneously every day, especially Monday-Wednesday, it creates a bottleneck. If you don't want to pay for a service, here are some tips that might help: 1. Call right when they open at 8am 2. Try on Thursdays or Fridays when call volume is lower 3. Use the contact form on UI Online and request a callback 4. Contact your state assembly member's office for assistance But honestly, if your situation is urgent and you've been trying unsuccessfully for days, services like Claimyr make sense for many people.

Thanks for the tips! I've actually tried calling right at 8am for the past three days, and still nothing. I'll try the UI Online contact form, but I'm pretty desperate at this point since I just got a notice my claim needs additional verification that can only be done by phone.

It's ridiculous that these third-party services even need to exist! EDD needs to hire more people or improve their phone systems. People already struggling financially shouldn't have to pay extra just to access benefits they're entitled to.

did anyone try that twitter thing? i heard if u tweet @edd_ca_gov they sometimes respond faster lol worth a shot maybe

EDD rarely responds to individual cases on Twitter - they usually just direct people back to their official channels. They don't want to discuss claim details on social media due to privacy concerns. It's definitely not a reliable way to get help with your specific claim.

Before you pay for anything, have you tried calling the alternate EDD numbers? Sometimes the disability or employer lines have shorter waits and they can transfer you to the right department. Also try the 833 number instead of the 800 number. That worked for me back in December when my certification got stuck in pending for no reason.

I've tried both the main numbers (800 and 833) with no luck, but haven't tried the disability line. Might give that a shot before paying for Claimyr, but honestly at this point I just need to talk to someone ASAP. Already behind on bills and getting anxious.

UPDATE: Yes! Used Claimyr yesterday around 12pm, got a call back from an EDD rep at 2:45pm. She fixed the verification issue and released all my pending payments! Should have the money by tomorrow. Honestly wish I'd just done this two weeks ago instead of banging my head against the wall trying to get through. The peace of mind alone was worth it.

Just a tip for anyone using Claimyr or finally getting through to EDD some other way - make sure you have all your claim info ready! Nothing worse than finally getting an agent and then scrambling for your paperwork or not being able to answer their security questions. Have your claim number, last employer info, and dates of employment handy.

Excellent advice. I'd also recommend having a list of specific questions or issues you need resolved. EDD representatives can handle multiple issues in one call, but you need to be clear about what needs fixing. Also note the representative's ID number and the date/time of your call for future reference.
