Hey everyone, I'm trying to check my unemployment benefits and I'm not sure where to start. The EDD website is confusing and I can't seem to get through on the phone. Has anyone had any luck recently? What's the best way to get information about my benefits?

I found a method that actually works to get someone on the phone. I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. Listen up, folks. I've been dealing with EDD for months now, and here's what I've learned: ā¢ Always check your online account first. Sometimes issues resolve themselves without you even knowing. ā¢ If you must call, use the trick of pressing # immediately after the automated message starts. It might get you to a human faster. ā¢ Be prepared with all your info before you call. They'll ask for your SSN, claim ID, and probably your firstborn child š ā¢ If you're not getting anywhere, ask to speak to a tier 2 specialist. They have more authority to fix issues. ā¢ Document EVERYTHING. Get the name of who you spoke to and when. ā¢ If all else fails, contact your local assembly member's office. They can sometimes work miracles. Hope this helps someone. We're all in this mess together!
