EDD: How to add a job to existing unemployment claim? System causing delays!

Hey everyone, I'm having trouble adding a job to my unemployment claim. It's causing delays and I'm not sure how to proceed. Has anyone else dealt with this? Any advice on what I should say when I finally get through to an agent?

Ugh, I feel your pain. The system is so frustrating! 🤦‍♂️ Have you tried logging into your account and looking for an 'Add Employment' option? Sometimes it's hidden in the menus.

Yeah, I've looked everywhere on the site. No luck finding that option. It's like they dont want us to update our info!

Same here! I spent hours clicking around. The UX is a nightmare 😫

When you talk to an agent, make sure you have all your job details ready. They'll probably ask for start/end dates, employer name, and wages. Be prepared and it'll go smoother.

I found a way to actually get someone on the phone. I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. Here's the link: https://claimyr.com

Sounds sketchy. Is it legit? 🤔

Totally get the skepticism, but yeah, it's legit. Saved me hours of hold time. Worth every penny imo.

How long did it take to get through?

For me, it was about 2 hours. Way better than the days I spent trying to call myself!

Pro tip: Call right when they open. I've had better luck getting through early in the morning. Also, Wednesdays seem to be less busy for some reason.

Have you tried faxing your info? I know it sounds ancient, but sometimes old school methods work when the online system is being a pain.

Faxing? What year is it? 😂 But seriously, I might give that a shot if nothing else works. Thanks for the tip!

Here's what worked for me when I had to add a job: 1. Gather all your employment info (dates, wages, employer details) 2. Call the main number and choose the option for 'existing claims' 3. When you get an agent, explain you need to add employment to your claim 4. Be patient and follow their instructions carefully 5. Ask for a confirmation number or email after they've made the changes It took me a few tries to get through, but once I did, the process was pretty straightforward. Good luck!

Anyone else feel like we need a complete overhaul of the unemployment system? It's 2023 and we're still dealing with these archaic processes. smh

For real. My grandma could design a better system, and she still uses a flip phone 😂
