Unpaid PFL benefits from previous years - How to resolve?
Hey everyone, I'm dealing with some unpaid Paid Family Leave (PFL) benefits from previous years. Has anyone else gone through this? I'm trying to figure out how to resolve it and get the money I'm owed. Any advice on what documents I should gather or who I should contact? Really appreciate any help!

Ugh, dealing with unpaid benefits is such a headache! š¤ I've been there before. First thing you should do is gather all the notices and documents you received about your PFL. Do you remember the specific dates or amounts for the unpaid benefits? That info will be super helpful when you contact them.

Thanks for the advice! I'm digging through my files now. I think it was sometime last year, but I'm not 100% sure on the exact dates. Gonna have to do some detective work šµļøāāļø

Pro tip: Check your email too! Sometimes they send important stuff there and it gets buried. Good luck with your search!

I had a similar issue last year. It took forever to resolve, but I finally got it sorted. Here's what worked for me: ā¢ Collected all my PFL paperwork, including initial application and any correspondence ā¢ Made a detailed timeline of my leave and when I should've been paid ā¢ Called the PFL office (be prepared to wait on hold FOREVER) ā¢ Filed a formal appeal with all my documentation It was a pain, but I eventually got my money. Don't give up!

It took about 3 months from start to finish. The waiting is the worst part, but stay persistent!

Hey, I found a way to actually get someone on the phone! I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. Here's a video about it: https://youtu.be/DOLxZQb92wM

Sounds too good to be true. Does it really work?

Yeah, it actually does! I was skeptical at first too, but it saved me hours of hold time. Totally worth the $20 imo.

Is it safe tho? Like, giving them your phone number and stuff?

I didn't have any issues. They just need your number to forward the call. Didn't ask for any other personal info.

Anyone else feel like the whole PFL system is designed to be confusing on purpose? š¤ It's like they want us to give up and not claim what we're owed.

Conspiracy theory: they make it hard so people don't use it, then they can say no one needs it and cut the program š

Quick question - are you sure its actually unpaid and not just delayed? Sometimes they batch payments and it can take a while to process. Might be worth double-checking your bank statements just in case.

Good point! I'll definitely double-check. Fingers crossed it's just a delay š¤

Pro tip: Keep a log of every single interaction you have with PFL. Date, time, who you talked to, what they said. It'll save you so much hassle later if things get messy.
