PFL claim filed over a month ago - no updates or notices. What to do?
Hey everyone, I filed for Paid Family Leave over a month ago and haven't heard anything back. No notices, no updates, nothing. I'm starting to get worried. Has anyone else experienced this? What should I do next? I'm thinking about calling them, but I've heard horror stories about wait times. Any advice would be appreciated!

Ugh, I feel you. I was in the same boat last year. It's so frustrating! Have you tried checking your online account? Sometimes they update there before sending anything out.

Yeah, I've been checking my online account like a hawk. Still nothing there either. It's driving me crazy!

Pro tip: set up email notifications for your account. That way you don't have to keep logging in to check. Saved me a ton of anxiety during my claim process.

Thanks for the tip! I'll definitely do that. Anything to make this process less stressful.

A month with no update is pretty normal tbh. The system is so backed up rn. But if you're worried, def give them a call. Just be prepared to wait... and wait... and wait some more lol

I found a way to actually get someone on the phone without waiting forever. I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. Here's a video about it: https://youtu.be/DOLxZQb92wM

Sounds too good to be true. Does it really work? $20 seems steep just to make a phone call.

I was skeptical too, but it actually worked for me. Saved me hours of hold time. Worth it if you're desperate to talk to someone.

Idk man, paying to talk to a government agency feels wrong. Shouldn't this be free?

I get where you're coming from, but time is money too. I'd rather pay $20 than waste a whole day on hold. 🤷♂️

Here's what you need to do: 1. Keep checking your online account daily 2. If you haven't received any update after 6 weeks, definitely call them 3. When you call, have all your info ready - claim number, dates, etc. 4. Be polite but firm. Ask for specific next steps or timeframes 5. If they can't help, ask to speak to a supervisor 6. Document everything - who you talked to, what they said, date and time 7. If all else fails, contact your local state representative. They can sometimes help push things along Hang in there! The system is frustrating, but you'll get through it. 💪

The whole system is a joke. I've been waiting 3 months for my claim to be processed. Good luck getting any real help from them. 🙄

3 months?! That's insane. Have you tried contacting your local rep? I've heard they can sometimes help speed things up.

Yeah, I reached out last week. Still waiting to hear back. It's like everyone in the government moves at snail pace 🐌

Anyone else notice that the EDD website is always "under maintenance" when you actually need to use it? 🤔

Pro tip: if you call right when they open, you have a better chance of getting through. Set your alarm early!

This! I called at 8:01 AM and got through in 10 minutes. It's all about timing.

I feel like we need a support group for people dealing with EDD. Who's in? 🙋♀️
