PFL claim filed on 12/25, no updates yet. Anyone else experiencing delays?

Hey everyone, I filed for PFL on Christmas Day and still haven't heard anything back. It's been over a week now and I'm getting worried. Has anyone else experienced delays with their PFL claims recently? I'm hoping to get some info on my status and payment details soon. Any advice on what I should do or who I should contact?

Ugh, I feel ya. The whole system is so slow rn. I filed mine back in November and didnt hear anything for like 3 weeks! 😤 Keep checking your online account for updates, sometimes they dont even bother to notify you when theres changes.

3 weeks?! You got lucky. I've been waiting since October... 🙃

Same boat here. Filed in early December, radio silence so far. The waiting game is brutal.

Pro tip: call them ASAP! The earlier in the day, the better. Be prepared to wait on hold for a while, but its worth it to get some answers. Make sure you have all your info ready when you call.

This! ☝️ And don't let them brush you off. Be polite but persistent.

Thanks for the advice! Any specific number you recommend calling?

Use the main PFL number on their website. If that doesn't work, try the general EDD number and ask to be transferred.

Hey guys, I found a method to get someone on the phone. I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. Here's a video about it: https://youtu.be/DOLxZQb92wM

Sounds too good to be true. Has anyone else tried this?

I get the skepticism, but it seriously saved me hours of frustration. Worth every penny imo.

Alright, let me break this down for you based on my experience and what I've learned from others: 1. Delays are unfortunately common, especially around holidays. The system gets backlogged easily. 2. Check your online account daily. Sometimes updates appear there before you get any notification. 3. If you haven't already, make sure all your documents are uploaded correctly. Missing or incorrect docs can cause major delays. 4. Call them! Use the main PFL number first thing in the morning. Be prepared to wait, but don't give up. 5. If calling doesn't work, consider sending a secure message through your online account. It's slower but can sometimes get results. 6. Double-check that your employer has submitted all necessary info on their end. Sometimes the holdup is on their side. 7. If all else fails, contact your local state representative's office. They can sometimes help push things along. Remember, persistence is key. Don't be afraid to follow up regularly. Good luck!

Wow, thank you so much for this detailed response! This is super helpful. I'll definitely start with checking my online account and then try calling tomorrow morning.

Have you checked if theres any pending forms or additional info they need from you? Sometimes they dont tell you and just let your claim sit there 🙄

I haven't seen anything, but I'll double-check. Thanks for the heads up!

Oof, filing on a holiday probably didn't help. The system might not have even registered it until the next business day. Hang in there!
