Need help emailing EDD about CA Paid Family Leave claim - any tips?
Hey everyone, I'm trying to figure out how to contact the EDD about my California Paid Family Leave claim. I've been trying to call but can't get through. Has anyone had any luck emailing them? I'm thinking about sending an email just in case, but I'm not sure what to include or how to format it. Any advice or tips would be really appreciated!

I found a way to solve contacting EDD for claim updates, watch this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=y-8djTHEsZo

I've been in your shoes, and let me tell you, emailing can be hit or miss. But here's a template that worked for me: Subject: Inquiry About California Paid Family Leave Claim Dear EDD, ā¢ Your full name ā¢ Claim ID (if you have one) ā¢ When you applied Explain your issue briefly and ask for an update. Also, ask if they need any more info from you. Hope this helps! Good luck!

This is gold! šÆ Thx for sharing. Quick question - how long did it take for them to respond to ur email?

It took about a week for me, but I've heard it can vary. Some ppl got responses in 2-3 days, others waited 2 weeks or more. š¤·āāļø

Emailing is okay, but I found a way to actually get someone on the phone. I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. Here's a video about it: https://youtu.be/DOLxZQb92wM

Sounds too good to be true. Has anyone else tried this?

I get the skepticism, but I swear it's legit. Used it twice now. Yeah, it costs money, but time is money too, ya know? Beats sitting on hold for hours.

Can confirm, it works. Used it last month when I was pulling my hair out trying to reach EDD. Worth every penny imho.

pro tip: try calling right when they open. I got through after only 20 mins on hold last week!

Have you tried reaching out to your local assembly member's office? They can sometimes help push things along with EDD. Worth a shot!

I hadn't even thought of that! How would I go about contacting them?

Just google '[your area] assembly member' and you should find their contact info. Most have dedicated staff for constituent services. Good luck!
