FML claim approved 5 weeks ago but no payment from EDD yet - help!

I filed for Family Medical Leave over a month ago and my claim was approved, but I still haven't received any payments. Has anyone else experienced this? I've already waited five weeks since filing on July 31st. All my paperwork is in order, and they even confirmed my claim was approved. I'm getting worried because bills are piling up. Any advice on how to speed up the process or who to contact?

I found a way to solve delayed EDD payments, watch this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Dk-lifwxYxU

Ugh, I feel your pain! I went through something similar last year. Have you tried calling the EDD office directly? Sometimes you gotta be persistent and keep calling until you get through to a real person.

I've been trying to call, but it's impossible to get through. The lines are always busy or they hang up on me. It's so frustrating!

Pro tip: call right when they open in the morning. That's how I finally got through after weeks of trying!

Calling is such a waste of time tbh. I spent hours on hold and got nowhere. There's gotta be a better way 🤔

I found a method to get someone on the phone. I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. Check out this video for more info: https://youtu.be/DOLxZQb92wM

Sounds too good to be true. Is this legit? Has anyone else tried it?

Yeah, it's totally legit! I was skeptical at first too, but it saved me hours of frustration. Worth every penny imo.

Idk man, paying to talk to a government agency feels wrong. Shouldn't this be free?

I get where you're coming from, but think about how much your time is worth. For me, it was a no-brainer.

Have you checked your bank account info on file with EDD? Sometimes payments get delayed because of incorrect routing numbers or account details.

This happened to me too! Turns out there was a glitch in their system and my claim got stuck in processing limbo. I had to file an appeal to get it sorted out. It sucks, but sometimes you gotta fight for your rights!

Oh no, that sounds like a nightmare! How long did the appeal process take?

It took about 3 weeks, but felt like forever. Stay strong, OP! 💪

Here's what you need to do: 1. Double-check all your paperwork is correct and up to date. 2. Contact your employer to make sure they've submitted everything on their end. 3. Try reaching out to EDD through their online portal or email system. 4. If all else fails, contact your local state representative's office. They often have liaisons who can help with EDD issues. 5. Document EVERYTHING. Keep a log of all your calls, emails, and attempts to resolve this. 6. Consider filing a formal complaint if it's not resolved soon. Remember, persistence is key. Don't give up! The system is overwhelmed, but you'll get your money eventually.

Have you tried checking the EDD subreddit? There's usually good info and updates there about payment delays and system issues.

Ugh, I'm in the same boat. Filed in June and still waiting. This system is so broken 😤

June?! That's insane. Have you tried reaching out to local news? Sometimes public pressure can speed things up.

Pro tip: if you can't get through on the phone, try faxing your inquiry. Sounds old school, but it worked for me!
