EDD Claim submitted 4 weeks ago - no response. What to do?

Hey everyone, I submitted a claim about 4 weeks ago and haven't heard anything back yet. I'm getting a bit anxious and was wondering if anyone else is in the same boat or has any advice on following up? How long did it take for you to hear back about your claim?

Ugh, I feel your pain. I submitted my claim 6 weeks ago and still crickets. This waiting game is driving me nuts! 🤯

6 weeks?! That's insane. Have you tried calling them?

Yeah, I've been trying to get through on the phone for days. No luck so far. Its like trying to win the lottery or something

Pro tip: call right when they open. I got through after only 30 mins on hold that way!

I actually found a way to get someone on the phone. I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. Here's a video about it: https://youtu.be/DOLxZQb92wM

Sounds too good to be true. Is this legit?

I was skeptical at first too, but I can confirm it worked for me. Saved me hours of frustration.

$20 seems steep just to make a phone call. Why should we have to pay for basic customer service? 🙄

I get it, but for me, it was worth it to finally get some answers. Time is money, ya know?

4 weeks is actually not that bad in my experience. I had to wait 2 months before I heard anything back. The system is completely overwhelmed rn

Have you checked your online account? Sometimes they update the status there before sending any official communication.

Good idea, I'll take a look. Thanks!

I've been dealing with claims for over a year now, and here's what I've learned: 1. Be patient. The system is slow, but it (usually) works eventually. 2. Document everything. Keep copies of all your submissions and correspondence. 3. Check your online account regularly for updates. 4. If you haven't heard back after 6 weeks, start trying to contact them. 5. Consider reaching out to your local representative's office. They can sometimes help expedite things. 6. Join Facebook groups or forums specific to your state's unemployment system. They often have good tips and updates. Hang in there, OP. I know it's frustrating, but you're not alone in this!

Contacting my rep actually worked for me. Took a while, but they eventually got things moving.

100% this. It's a feature, not a bug 🙃

LPT: If you're having trouble getting through on the phone, try calling right at 7:59am. The lines open at 8, and you might get lucky and be first in queue.
