Trouble updating claim to get paid - can't reach anyone at EDD. Help!

I'm trying to update my claim to get paid but it's not going well. I've been trying to get connected to someone for hours now. Anyone else having trouble reaching someone to update their claim? Any tips on how to actually get through to a real person?

I found a method that actually works to get someone on the phone. I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works.
