SDI payments stopped for 2 weeks - How to fix EDD payment issues?

Hey everyone, I'm having some issues with my SDI payments. I haven't received anything for the past two weeks and I'm not sure why. Has anyone else experienced this? I'm trying to figure out what's going on and how to fix it. Any advice would be appreciated!

Ugh, I feel your pain. I've been there before. Have you tried calling EDD? It's a nightmare to get through, but sometimes it's the only way to get answers.

Yeah, I've been trying to call but no luck so far. It's so frustrating!

Pro tip: call right when they open. I got through after only 30 minutes of waiting last time.

I also found success calling later in the afternoon. It seems the lines are somewhat less busy.

I'm in the same boat. Been waiting on payments for 3 weeks now. This system is so broken 😫

3 weeks? Amateur. Try 2 months 🙃

Have you checked your online account? Sometimes there's info there about payment issues or claim problems.

This is a good first step. The online portal sometimes has alerts or messages that can clarify things.

Hey OP, make sure you're still eligible for SDI. Sometimes your doctor needs to recertify your disability. It's a pain, but worth checking!

This is important because eligibility can change, and you might not get a notification.

Have you considered reaching out to your local news station? Sometimes public pressure can get things moving.

This could be an effective strategy; news outlets sometimes take on viewer stories.

I can definitely empathize with your situation. It seems the EDD system is notorious for its inefficiencies and the sheer difficulty of reaching a live agent. Claimyr.com has been mentioned in this thread, and it's worth considering for its innovative solution to bypass phone queues. While it does cost $20, many users, like profile 6, have reported success and time savings. However, it's crucial to weigh whether the cost aligns with your needs, given budget constraints. Meanwhile, ensuring all your documentation is in order and checking for any requested follow-ups from EDD is paramount. Keep comprehensive records of all your communications and submissions. Engaging with your local assemblyperson could be a practical step if the issue persists. As a final point, patience is critical during this process, albeit understandably challenging.

I had a similar issue last month. Turns out they needed some additional documentation from me. Check your mail and spam folder for any letters from EDD.

Thanks for the tip! I'll double check my mail. Didn't even think about spam folder 🤦‍♂️

This happened to me too! They sent a letter asking for more info but it went to my old address. Make sure your address is up to date in the system.

Have u tried turning it off and on again? 🤣 jk jk. but srsly, sometimes logging out and back in to ur account can refresh things

Funny but true! Sometimes a simple refresh can solve tech issues.

Guys, I think I figured it out. We need to sacrifice a goat under a full moon while chanting 'EDD please pay me' 666 times. Works every time

At this point, I'm willing to try anything 😅

Instructions unclear. Sacrificed my bank account instead. Still no payment. 💀

Plot twist: EDD is actually run by a bunch of hamsters on wheels and they're all on strike 🐹🚫

Yo, I found a way to actually get someone on the phone. I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. Check out this video: https://youtu.be/1X-mEsLtbmQ

I know it sounds weird, but I swear it's legit. Saved me hours of frustration. Sometimes you gotta spend money to make money, ya know? 🤷‍♂️

Has anyone else tried this Claimyr tool? I'm curious if it's worth the investment.

Here's what you need to do: 1. Check your online account for any messages or alerts 2. Review your certification answers - sometimes a wrong answer can delay payment 3. Make sure your address and contact info are up to date 4. Look for any mail from EDD (including spam folder) 5. If all else fails, keep calling. Use the trick of pressing 1 for Spanish then 0 for English - sometimes gets you through faster If none of that works, you might need to contact your local assemblyperson. They can sometimes expedite EDD issues. Good luck! The system is a mess but don't give up 💪

Wow, thanks for the detailed response! I'll definitely try all of these.

This is solid advice. I'd add: document EVERYTHING. Every call, every letter, every online message. It'll help if you need to escalate your case.

Especially important if you are asked for documentation, as this can slow down the process.
