SDI payment delayed - what to ask when calling EDD?

Hey everyone, I'm having trouble with my SDI payment. It's been delayed and I'm not sure why. Has anyone else experienced this? I'm thinking about calling them to find out what's going on, but I'm not sure what to ask. Any advice on what I should say when I get through to an agent?

I found a way to solve SDI payment delay issues, watch this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hOzc2R5FLFc

Ugh, I feel ya. I've been there before. When you call, make sure to ask them which documents are missing or need more verification. Sometimes they don't process things correctly on their end and you gotta push em a bit.

Thanks for the tip! I'll definitely ask about missing documents. Did you have to provide any specific info when you called?

Yeah, have your claim number ready and any dates of when you submitted paperwork. They might ask for your social too, so be prepared for that. Good luck!

This is solid advice. I had to call like 3 times before I got someone who actually knew what they were doing. Don't give up! 💪

I found a way to actually get someone on the phone. I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. Here's a video about it: https://youtu.be/1X-mEsLtbmQ

Sounds too good to be true. Has anyone else tried this?

I know it sounds sketchy, but I swear it worked for me. Saved me hours of hold time.

I get where you're coming from, but for me, time is money. I couldn't afford to sit on hold all day.

The whole SDI system is a joke. I've been waiting for my payment for 6 weeks now. Every time I call, they give me a different excuse. Anyone else feel like were just getting the runaround?

Preach! 🙌 I swear they're just hoping we'll give up and go away. Stay strong!

6 weeks? Amateur hour. Try 3 months. I'm about ready to camp outside their office at this point. 😤

Here's what I've learned from dealing with SDI for the past year: 1. Document EVERYTHING. Every call, every letter, every email. You never know when you'll need to reference something. 2. Be persistent but polite. The person on the other end of the line isn't personally responsible for your delay. 3. Know your rights. Read up on the SDI guidelines so you can advocate for yourself. 4. If you're not getting anywhere with regular agents, ask to speak to a supervisor. 5. Consider reaching out to your local state representative. Sometimes they can help push things along. 6. Join Facebook groups or forums dedicated to SDI issues. You can get a lot of good info and support there. Hope this helps someone! We're all in this together. 💪

Wow, thank you so much for this detailed advice! I'll definitely start keeping better records. Have you had any luck with contacting state reps?

Yes, actually! My state assembly member's office was super helpful. They have liaisons who deal with EDD/SDI issues all the time. Definitely worth a shot if you're stuck.

This should be pinned to the top of the subreddit. Solid gold advice right here. 👏👏👏

Plot twist: What if we all just show up at their office at the same time? They can't ignore us all! Who's in? 😂

Lmao imagine the look on their faces 🤣 I'm down if you are!

Guys, please don't do this. It won't help and might get you in trouble. Stick to legal methods.

Chill, it's just a joke. But fr, something needs to change with this system.

Has anyone tried faxing their documents instead of mailing them? I heard it might be faster but idk if thats true

Wait, faxing? What year is it? 😂 But for real, if it works, I'm willing to try anything at this point.

I tried faxing once. They still lost my documents somehow. 🤦‍♂️ YMMV
