SDI payment delay after submitting continuation benefits form - EDD not responding, need advice
I filled out the continuation benefits form for my SDI claim and they said they got it on June 14th, but I still haven't gotten any payment. It's been over a week now and I'm getting worried. Has anyone else had this problem? I really need this money to pay my bills and I don't know what to do. I tried calling but I can't get through to a real person. Any advice would be appreciated!

Have you tried checking your claim status online? Sometimes there's more info there than what they tell you over the phone.

Yeah, I checked online but it just says "pending". No other info π

Classic EDD move. They love keeping us in the dark π

Sometimes their website updates can lag, which doesn't help at all.

Hey OP, have you considered reaching out to a disability advocate? They might be able to help push your claim through faster. Just a thought!

Anyone else feel like they're playing the worlds worst lottery trying to get through to EDD? π°π€‘

Have you guys heard about this new service that can actually get you through to a real person at EDD? I used this site called claimyr.com and it was a game changer. Their calling tool dials the phone menu, stays on hold, and then connects you when a live agent picks up. It costs $20, but it saved me hours of frustration. Here's a video about it: https://youtu.be/1X-mEsLtbmQ

Sounds too good to be true. Is this legit?

$20 just to talk to someone? That's ridiculous. The service should be free!

I get the skepticism, but it's 100% legit. I was desperate and it actually worked for me. Worth every penny imo.

How long did you have to wait once you used the service?

Itβs unfortunate weβre in a situation where paying for assistance is even an option.

Am I the only one who thinks its crazy that we have to jump through all these hoops just to get the benefits we're entitled to? The whole system needs an overhaul smh

Pro tip: if you call right when they open at 8am, you have a better chance of getting through. Set your alarm and start dialing at 7:59!

Ugh, I feel your pain. The EDD is a total nightmare rn. I've been waiting for my payment for almost a month now. It's like they enjoy making us suffer π

It's so frustrating, especially since we all depend on these payments to get by.

Listen up, folks. I've been dealing with EDD for years and I've learned a few tricks. Here's what you need to do: 1. Document everything. Every call, every letter, every online interaction. 2. Be persistent. Call every day if you have to. 3. Reach out to your local state representative. They can sometimes expedite claims. 4. If all else fails, file a complaint with the state ombudsman. Remember, the squeaky wheel gets the grease. Don't let them ignore you!

I had a similar issue last month. Turns out they needed additional documentation from me, but never bothered to tell me. Try faxing them a follow-up letter asking about the status of your claim. Sometimes that gets their attention.

Update: I finally got through to someone! They said there was a "processing delay" whatever that means π Supposedly my payment should come through in the next 3-5 business days. Fingers crossed π€
