EDD payment delay since 9/23 - no updates, can't reach anyone. Help!
Hey everyone, I'm in a bit of a pickle here. I haven't received my unemployment payment since September 23rd. It's been over a month now and I'm starting to get really worried. Has anyone else experienced a delay like this? Any ideas on what might be causing it or what I can do to get this sorted out? I've tried calling but can't seem to get through to anyone. Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

Ugh, I feel your pain OP. I was in the same boat last month. Have you checked your claim status online? Sometimes there's a hold on the account that you might not know about.

Thanks for the suggestion. I've checked online but everything looks normal on my end. No holds or pending issues that I can see. It's so frustrating!

Maybe try uploading any new documents you have, even if they didnt ask for them. Sometimes that can trigger a review of your claim.

That's a good idea, I'll give it a shot. At this point, I'm willing to try anything 😩

I hate to say it, but welcome to the club 🙃 The system is so broken rn. I've been waiting on payments for 6 weeks. It's a nightmare.

Have you tried reaching out to your local representative? Sometimes they can help push things along with EDD. It worked for me when I was stuck in limbo for months.

I hadn't thought of that! How did you go about contacting them? Did you just call their office?

Yep, just called the office and explained my situation. They have staff dedicated to helping with EDD issues. Good luck!

Guys, I found a method to actually get someone on the phone. I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. Here's a video explaining it: https://youtu.be/1X-mEsLtbmQ

Sounds too good to be true. Has anyone else tried this?

I get the skepticism, but it seriously worked for me. Saved me hours of frustration. Just sharing what helped me out 🤷♂️

Can you give more details about how it works? Like, do you have to keep your phone free while it's on hold?

Nah, that's the beauty of it. The service stays on hold for you, and only calls your phone when a real person picks up. You can go about your day normally.

Here's what I've learned from dealing with EDD for the past year: 1. Document everything. Keep a log of all your calls, emails, and online interactions. 2. Be persistent. Call every day if you have to. 3. Check for any pending certifications or additional info they might need. 4. Use social media. Sometimes tweeting at EDD can get a response. 5. Consider filing an appeal if you think there's been a mistake. 6. Join Facebook groups for unemployment support. Lots of good info there. 7. Don't give up! It's frustrating, but keep pushing. Hope this helps, OP. Hang in there!

Not to be that guy, but are you sure you've been certifying correctly? I missed a week once and it messed up my whole claim.

Yeah, I've double-checked all my certifications. Everything looks good on that front. Thanks for the suggestion though!

This might sound crazy, but have you tried faxing them? I know, I know, what year is it? But I swear, I faxed a letter explaining my situation and got a call back within a week.

Ugh, the EDD is such a dumpster fire rn. I've been trying to get through for weeks. Anyone else feel like we need to stage a protest or something? This is getting ridiculous.

Careful now, don't want to risk losing benefits for causing trouble. But I feel your frustration 💯
