EDD hasn't paid my February pregnancy disability claim - help!

Hey everyone, I'm having trouble with my disability claim for my pregnancy from February. It still hasn't been paid and I'm getting frustrated. I've received some letters from the EDD but I'm not sure what to do next. Has anyone else dealt with this? Any advice on how to get this resolved quickly?

Ugh, I feel your pain! I had a similar issue with my disability claim last year. Have you tried calling them directly? Sometimes talking to a real person can help sort things out faster.

I've been trying to call but it's impossible to get through! 😫 I've spent hours on hold and nothing.

Pro tip: call right when they open in the morning. You might have better luck getting through!

I found a method to get someone on the phone. I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. Here's a video about it: https://youtu.be/1X-mEsLtbmQ

Sounds too good to be true. Is this legit?

Yeah, it's totally legit. I was skeptical at first too, but it saved me hours of frustration. Worth every penny imo.

How long did it take for them to get through?

It took about 2 hours for me, but I didn't have to sit there waiting. They just called me when they got an agent.

Here's what you need to do: 1. Gather all your documents: medical certification, pay stubs, and any letters from EDD. 2. Write down a clear timeline of events. 3. Call EDD and explain the situation calmly. 4. Ask for a specific date when you can expect resolution. 5. If they can't help, ask to speak with a supervisor. 6. Keep a record of all calls (date, time, rep name). 7. If still no resolution, contact your local state representative. Stay persistent! The system is overwhelmed but you'll get through eventually. Good luck!

This is solid advice. I'd add: check your online account regularly for updates. Sometimes they update info there without notifying you.

I'm in the same boat, been waiting since January for my claim to be processed. This whole system is broken 😤

Preach! 🙌 EDD needs a complete overhaul. It's ridiculous how long we have to wait for OUR money.

Quick question - did you make sure all the dates on your claim are correct? I had a similar issue and it turned out there was a typo in my file that caused delays.

Oh snap, I didn't even think to check that! I'll take a closer look at my paperwork. Thanks for the tip!

Have you tried reaching out to your local assemblymember or state senator? They often have staff dedicated to helping constituents with EDD issues. Worth a shot!
