EDD delay due to sick pay verification? Need advice on what to say to agent

Hey everyone, I'm having trouble with my benefits because of some sick pay. I got a notice to call, but I'm not sure what's going on. Is the sick pay causing a delay? Has anyone else dealt with this? I'm kinda lost here and could use some advice on what to say when I finally get through to someone.

I found a way to solve sick pay delaying benefits issue, watch this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fDI56iXEQFQ

Ugh, sick pay can be such a headache! šŸ¤• I had a similar issue last year. Here's what I learned: ā€¢ Sick pay can definitely cause delays in benefit processing ā€¢ They might need to verify the amount of sick pay you received ā€¢ Sometimes they need additional documentation When you call, make sure to: 1. Explain your situation clearly 2. Ask if the sick pay is causing the delay 3. Find out if they need any more documents from you 4. Ask if they can speed up the process Good luck! Let us know how it goes šŸ‘

This is really helpful, thanks for sharing! Did you have to provide any specific documents for your sick pay?

Yeah, I had to send in a copy of my last paystub showing the sick pay and a letter from my employer confirming the dates. It was a pain, but it got sorted eventually.

I found a way to actually get someone on the phone. I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. Here's a video about it: https://youtu.be/1X-mEsLtbmQ

Sounds too good to be true. Is this legit?

I was skeptical too, but I tried it and it actually worked. Saved me hours of frustration.

I get it, but for me it was worth it. I was going crazy trying to get through on my own.

Sick pay is the worst! I've been dealing with this for months. They kept saying they needed to 'verify' something but wouldn't tell me what. Keep calling and don't give up!

Pro tip: call right when they open. I always have better luck getting through early in the morning.

What time do they open?

Has anyone tried contacting their local representative? I've heard that can sometimes help speed things up.

I did this! It actually helped. Took about 2 weeks, but my rep's office got things moving.

Just Google '[your state] find my representative'. There should be a website where you can enter your address.
