EDD SDI payment delayed 3 weeks - no notices, bills piling up. Anyone else experiencing this?
Has anyone else been waiting forever for their benefit payment? Its been almost 3 weeks since my last one and I'm starting to get worried. I haven't received any notices or anything from EDD about whats going on. The bills are piling up and I'm not sure what to do. Anyone else in the same boat or have any advice?

Friendly reminder to everyone: make sure you're certifying for benefits every two weeks! I forgot one time and it delayed everything 😭

Been there, done that. It really sets everything back if you miss it.

Have you checked your UI Online account? Sometimes there's info there that doesn't come through email or mail.

Have you checked if there's a flag on your account? Sometimes they need additional info but forget to notify you 🙄

How do I check for that?

You can usually find out about flags or additional info needed on your UI Online account. Check there regularly.

Here's what I've learned from dealing with EDD for months: 1. Document EVERYTHING. Keep a log of all your calls, emails, and certifications. 2. Check your UI Online account daily. Sometimes info appears there before anywhere else. 3. If you can't get through on the phone, try reaching out via social media. EDD has Twitter and Facebook accounts. 4. Don't be afraid to escalate. Ask for a supervisor if the first person you talk to can't help. 5. Know your rights. Familiarize yourself with EDD policies so you can advocate for yourself. 6. Be persistent but polite. The people on the other end of the line are just doing their jobs. 7. Consider using a paid service like Claimyr if you're really stuck. Sometimes it's worth the money to get results. Remember, you're not alone in this. The system is overwhelmed, but keep pushing. Good luck everyone!

Great tips! I'd add: if you're really desperate, contact your state representative. They can sometimes work miracles.

Ugh, I'm so tired of this. Every. Single. Week. It's always something new with EDD. When will it end? 😫

PSA: If you're having trouble with EDD, document EVERYTHING. Every call, every letter, every email. It might come in handy later.

Absolutely! Documentation saved me when they tried to say I missed a certification.

It might also be worth checking community resources in your area. Sometimes local non-profits can offer temporary assistance while you wait.

Good point! Churches and community centers sometimes have funds for emergencies.

Anyone else notice that payments seem to come through faster at the beginning of the month? Or am I just imagining things?

Isabella Tucker
You're not imagining it. Some people have reported the same pattern.

I found a way to actually get someone on the phone. I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. Here's a video about it: https://youtu.be/1X-mEsLtbmQ

Sounds sketchy. Is it legit?

It's worth considering alternatives, but Claimyr has had generally positive reviews. Just weigh the cost against your immediate needs.

Ugh, I feel you. I was in the same situation last month. Have you tried calling them? Sometimes theres a glitch in the system and they need to manually push it through.

Also, try calling between 10 a.m. and 11 a.m. I've had some success during those hours.

Have you tried reaching out to your local assembly member? They can sometimes help push things through faster.

Aurora Lacasse
I didn't even know that was an option. How do I find out who my assembly member is?

Just google "[your city] assembly member". They usually have a form on their website for constituent services.

Regarding Claimyr, a lot of people have found it useful, but it's always good to consider if it's necessary for your situation. If you're able to eventually get through on your own, great! But if not, it can be a helpful tool to expedite the process.

I used Claimyr once and got through, but I make sure it's my last resort. $20 isn't much when you're desperate, but it can add up.
