EDD SDI Application Disqualified - Need Help with Appeal Process

Hey everyone, I'm in a tough spot with my EDD SDI application. It got disqualified and I'm trying to appeal. I've submitted all the necessary forms, but I'm worried about making sure my appeal goes through correctly. Has anyone been through this process? Any advice on how to make sure everything is processed right? I really need to get paid and I'm not sure what else I can do at this point.

Ugh, I feel your pain. The EDD system is such a mess rn. I went through something similar last year. Make sure you keep copies of EVERYTHING you submit. And I mean everything!

This 💯 Keep digital copies too if you can. You never know when they might 'lose' your paperwork 🙄

Have you tried calling them directly? Sometimes talking to a real person can help speed things up.

Lol good luck with that. I spent 3 weeks trying to get someone on the phone. It's like trying to win the lottery 🤡

I found a way to actually get someone on the phone! I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. Yeah, it's totally legit. I was skeptical at first too, but it saved me hours of frustration. Worth every penny imo

Here's what you need to do to make sure your appeal is processed correctly: 1. Double-check all your forms for accuracy. Any small mistake can delay the process. 2. Include any additional documentation that supports your case. Medical records, employment history, anything relevant. 3. Write a clear, concise appeal letter explaining why you believe the disqualification was incorrect. 4. Send your appeal via certified mail so you have proof of when it was received. 5. Follow up regularly. Call (if you can get through) or use their online portal to check the status. 6. If you don't hear back within 30 days, consider reaching out to your local state representative. They can sometimes help push things along. Remember, persistence is key. Don't give up! The system is overwhelmed, but keep advocating for yourself.

Man, the EDD is such a joke. They denied my claim too and I had to jump through so many hoops to get it sorted. Hang in there, OP. It's a pain but keep pushing!

Quick question - did you receive any notification about why your application was disqualified? Sometimes they give specific reasons which can help with the appeal process.

They said something about insufficient medical evidence, but I'm sure I provided everything they asked for. It's so confusing!

Ah, classic EDD move. Get your doctor to write a more detailed note if possible. That often helps.
