EDD Recertification: Tips for Contacting Agents and Debunking Referral Payout Rumors
Hey everyone, I'm trying to recertify for my benefits and I'm wondering if anyone knows about referral payouts? I thought I heard something about being able to use credits or get some kind of bonus for referring people, but I'm not sure. Has anyone had any experience with this? Also, I've been trying to get through to an agent for days now. Any tips on how to actually talk to a human being? This whole process is driving me crazy!

Guys, I think I figured it out. We need to perform a ritual sacrifice to the EDD gods. Anyone have a fax machine we can burn? π₯π

Yo, I found a way to actually get someone on the phone! I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. Check out this video: https://youtu.be/1X-mEsLtbmQ

Wait, seriously? That sounds too good to be true. Has anyone else tried this?

$20 just to talk to someone? That's ridiculous. The system is so broken π€¦ββοΈ

I know it sounds crazy, but I swear it worked for me. Saved me hours of frustration. Worth every penny imo.

How does it even work? Isn't that like... cheating the system or something?

I've tried Claimyr as well, and honestly, it's not a scam. It's a service that helps bypass the long hold times, but it's still unfortunate that we have to pay for something like this.

Thanks for all the responses, everyone! Looks like I was way off base with the referral thing. Guess I'll just have to keep trying to get through. This whole process is making me consider a career change to become an EDD agent. If you can't beat 'em, join 'em, right? π

I've been in the same boat, trying to recertify. It's a total clown show π€‘ The website is always down, the phone lines are jammed, and when you finally get through, they put you on hold for hours. I swear they're doing this on purpose to make people give up.

Ugh, I know right? It's like they're playing games with our lives. How long have you been trying?

Has anyone else noticed that the EDD website looks like it was designed in 1995? I swear I saw a dancing baby gif the last time I logged in π

LMAO π€£ For real tho, they need to upgrade that ish. It's 2023, not the stone age!

Maybe if they spent less on hold music and more on web design, we wouldn't be in this mess π΅π»

Has anyone else noticed that their claim status changes randomly? Mine went from "approved" to "pending" to "come back later" in like 2 days. I swear they're just throwing darts at a board to decide our fates π―

That's exactly how it feels! I wish they'd provide clearer updates instead of keeping us in suspense.

I've been dealing with recertification for weeks now. It's a total nightmare. I haven't heard anything about referral payouts either. Sounds too good to be true tbh. Have you tried calling right when they open? Sometimes that works for me.

Calling right when they open is indeed one of the best options. It worked for me a couple of times!

Here's what I've learned after dealing with EDD for months: 1. There's no referral program. That's not a thing for government benefits. 2. Recertification can take weeks, sometimes months. Be patient but persistent. 3. Best times to call are usually early morning (right when they open) or late afternoon. 4. Use the online portal as much as possible. It's frustrating, but sometimes faster than calling. 5. If you do call, have all your info ready. Claim number, SSN, employment history, etc. 6. Be nice to the agents when you get through. They're overwhelmed too. 7. Consider reaching out to your local representative if you're really stuck. They can sometimes help. Hope this helps! Hang in there, we're all struggling with this system.

I heard a rumor that if you press 0 repeatedly when you call, it'll eventually connect you to an agent. Anyone tried this?

Sorry to break it to you, but I don't think there's any referral program for EDD benefits. That's not really how government assistance works. As for getting through to an agent, good luck! It's like trying to win the lottery these days π°

lol referral payouts? This ain't a pyramid scheme, bro. EDD is already stretched thin, they're not handing out bonuses for bringing in your friends π

True, it would be great if they did offer something like that, but it sounds unrealistic.
