EDD: How long to get connected for continued benefit payment update?

Hey everyone, I'm trying to get an update on my continued benefit payments. Anyone know how long it usually takes to get connected to someone? I've been waiting for a while now and I'm getting a bit anxious. Any tips or experiences to share?

I found a way to solve long EDD benefit payment waits, watch this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uN2_LuLwiPU

Ugh, I feel your pain. I've been trying to get through for DAYS. It's like they don't want us to actually talk to anyone šŸ™„

Same here! I swear they make it difficult on purpose. Anyone else think the system is designed to frustrate us?

Guys, lets not jump to conclusions. The system is overloaded, theyve probably got thousands of calls coming in every day

Pro tip: call right when they open. I usually get through within 30 minutes if I start dialing at 7:59 AM

I found a method to get someone on the phone. I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. Check out this video for more info: https://youtu.be/1X-mEsLtbmQ

Sounds too good to be true. Has anyone else tried this?

$20??? That's ridiculous, we shouldn't have to pay to get basic service!

I get the skepticism, but it seriously saved me hours of frustration. Worth every penny imho

Here's what I've learned after dealing with this for months: ā€¢ Be persistent. Sometimes you gotta call multiple times a day. ā€¢ Have all your info ready when you call. They'll ask for your SSN, claim ID, etc. ā€¢ Be polite to the rep when you get through. They're probably stressed too. ā€¢ If one rep can't help, politely ask to speak to a supervisor. ā€¢ Keep a log of who you talked to and when. It helps if you need to follow up. ā€¢ Check your online account regularly for updates. ā€¢ If all else fails, reach out to your local assemblymember's office. They can sometimes expedite things. Hope this helps someone! We're all in this together. šŸ’Ŗ

Great advice! One more tip: if you get disconnected, call back immediately. Sometimes you can get right back in the queue

Anyone else notice that the hold music is like, the most depressing thing ever? It's like they WANT us to hang up šŸ¤£

I've been waiting for an update for 3 weeks now. Starting to feel like I'm shouting into the void. This system is so broken

Has anyone tried reaching out on social media? I've heard some people have had luck getting responses that way

I tried tweeting at them once. Got a generic response telling me to call the same number I've been trying for weeks šŸ¤”
