EDD Continued Benefit Claim Filed Weeks Ago, Still No Money - Help!

Hey everyone, I'm in a bit of a pickle here. I filed my continued benefit claim for unemployment a while back, but I still haven't received any money. It's been weeks now and I'm starting to get worried. Has anyone else experienced this? Any advice on what I should do next? I've tried calling the EDD office, but it's impossible to get through. I'm running out of options and could really use some help.

I found a way to solve delayed unemployment payments, watch this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uskVi4PvAkI

Ugh, I feel your pain. I was in the same boat last month. Have you checked your UI Online account? Sometimes there are messages or updates there that explain the delay.

Thanks for the suggestion. I've been checking my account daily, but there's nothing new. It just shows my claim as 'pending'. So frustrating!

Pending for weeks? That's not normal. You might have to bite the bullet and keep calling until you get through. It sucks, but sometimes its the only way to get answers.

Yeah, I guess you're right. I'll keep trying to call. Wish me luck! 😩

I found a method to get someone on the phone. I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. Here's a video about it: https://youtu.be/1X-mEsLtbmQ

Sounds too good to be true. Has anyone else tried this? Is it legit?

$20 just to talk to someone? That's ridiculous. The system is so broken 🤦‍♂️

I know it sounds sketchy, but I swear it worked for me. Was desperate and took a chance. Got through in about 2 hours instead of calling for days.

I've used it too. It's legit. Saved me days of frustration.

Here's what you need to do: 1. Keep certifying for benefits every two weeks, even if you haven't been paid yet. 2. Check your UI Online account for any pending tasks or messages. 3. Make sure your contact info is up to date in the system. 4. If you can, try to contact them through UI Online messaging. 5. As a last resort, keep calling. Try early in the morning or late afternoon. 6. If all else fails, contact your local assembly member's office. They can sometimes help push claims through. Hang in there! The system is overwhelmed, but persistence usually pays off.

Wow, thank you so much for this detailed advice! I'll definitely follow these steps. Really appreciate you taking the time to write all this out. 🙏

This is solid advice. I'd add: document EVERYTHING. Every call, every message, every certification. It might come in handy later.

This happened to me too! Turns out there was an identity verification issue that I didn't know about. Def try to get someone on the phone if you can.

Oh no, I hope that's not the case for me. How long did it take you to resolve once you found out?

It took about 3 weeks after I submitted the additional docs they needed. But at least the payments were backdated!

The EDD is a joke. They're probably using our money to buy fancy coffee machines while we're out here struggling to pay rent. 🤬

Chill dude. The people working there are probably just as frustrated. It's the system that's broken, not the individuals.

Whatever man, doesn't change the fact that we're getting screwed over 🤷‍♂️

Has anyone tried reaching out to their local news station about these issues? Maybe if we make enough noise, something will change.

That's actually not a bad idea. Public pressure could force them to fix some of these problems.
