3 months no EDD disability payment, can't reach anyone. Help!
I've been waiting for my disability payment for 3 months now and I'm getting really frustrated. I've been trying to call all day but can't get through. They close at 5 PM and I'm worried I won't be able to reach anyone. Has anyone else experienced such long delays? Any advice on how to get in touch with them?

Ugh, I feel your pain. I was in the same boat last year. It took me almost 4 months to get my first payment. The system is so broken š¤

4 months?! That's insane. How did you manage to survive that long without income?

It was rough, ngl. Had to borrow money from family and max out my credit cards. Not fun at all.

This is why we need to overhaul the entire system. It's failing the people who need it most. š”

Have you tried contacting your local representative? Sometimes they can help speed things up. Worth a shot!

I found a method to get someone on the phone. I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. Here's a video about it: https://youtu.be/1X-mEsLtbmQ

Sounds too good to be true. Has anyone else tried this?

$20 just to talk to someone? That's ridiculous. The system is so broken š¤¦āāļø

I know it sounds sketchy, but I swear it worked for me. Was worth every penny to finally get my issue resolved.

Can you give more details about how it works? Is it legit?

Sure! You just go to their website, choose the department you need to call, pay the fee, and they start calling right away. When they get a real person, your phone rings and you're connected. Saved me hours of frustration.

Pro tip: Try calling right when they open. I've had better luck getting through early in the morning.

This! I always call at 8:01 AM and usually get through within 30 minutes.

Here's what worked for me: ā¢ Gather all your documents (claim number, ID, etc) before calling ā¢ Use the online portal to check your claim status first ā¢ If you can't get through on the main line, try the employer line (they sometimes help) ā¢ Be persistent and call every day ā¢ If all else fails, contact your state representative Hang in there, OP. I know it's frustrating, but don't give up!

Barely. Living off savings and help from family. It's been a nightmare.

Anyone else notice that their online system is always "under maintenance" when you actually need to use it? š

Hot take: maybe if we all showed up at their office in person, they'd have to deal with us š¤
