Need help with DSS rebudget and exemption for March income change - what docs do I need?
Hey everyone, I need some advice. I'm trying to rebudget my case due to a change in income for March. I'm also looking into getting an exemption for a few reasons. Has anyone gone through this process recently? What kind of documentation should I have ready when I call? Any tips would be appreciated!

I went through something similar last year. For the rebudget, make sure you have all your income docs for March - paystubs, bank statements, anything that shows the change. For exemptions, it really depends on what you're asking for. What kind of exemption are you looking at?

•Thanks for the info! I'm not entirely sure about the exemption yet. It might be related to the income change, but I'm also considering other reasons. I guess I should figure that out before I call, huh? 😅

•Definitely! The more specific you can be, the better. They'll want to know exactly why you need the exemption. If it's health-related, medical docs help. If it's job-related, maybe a letter from your employer. Just be prepared to explain your situation in detail.

Ugh, good luck dealing with them. I tried to rebudget last month and it was a nightmare. Took forever to get someone on the phone and then they kept transferring me around. Make sure you have plenty of time and patience when you call!

•For real tho. The system is so broken. I swear they make it difficult on purpose 🙄

•Have yall tried calling early in the morning? I usually have better luck getting through if I call right when they open.

Hey, I found a way to actually get someone on the phone without waiting forever. I used this site called claimyr.com - it's a calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, and then sends the call to your phone when a live agent picks up. It does cost $20, but it worked for me and saved me hours of frustration. Here's the link if anyone wants to check it out: https://claimyr.com

•Sounds too good to be true. How does it actually work? Is it legit?

•Yeah, it's legit! You just put in your phone number on their site, and they call you when they get an agent. Saved me from being on hold all day.

•20 bucks tho? Thats kinda steep just to make a phone call...

•I get it, but for me it was worth it. I was spending hours trying to get through. Time is money, ya know? 🤷♂️

Here's what you need to know about rebudgeting and exemptions: 1. Rebudgeting: - Gather all income documents for March (paystubs, bank statements, etc.) - Be prepared to explain why your income changed - Have your case number ready 2. Exemptions: - Determine the specific reason for your exemption request - Collect supporting documentation (medical records, employer letters, etc.) - Be ready to explain how your situation meets exemption criteria 3. General tips: - Call early in the morning for shorter wait times - Take detailed notes during the call - Ask for a reference number for your request - Follow up in writing if possible Remember, patience is key. The process can be frustrating, but stay calm and persistent. Good luck!

Pro tip: if you can, try to do as much as possible online through their portal. Sometimes you can submit rebudget requests there. Might save you a phone call altogether!
