How to get EBT CalWORKs deposit history printout for affordable housing recertification?
My client is in a panic because she needs an EBT printout showing all her CalWORKs deposits from 2022 for her affordable housing recertification. Her apartment manager is saying she'll lose her housing if she doesn't provide this documentation by next Friday! I've tried calling the county office with her but we keep getting disconnected after 40+ minutes on hold. Is there a way to get these CalWORKs payment records online through BenefitsCal or something? Or does she have to go in person to the county office? She works during their open hours so taking time off is really difficult. Any advice would be SO appreciated!

She has a few options to get her CalWORKs payment history: 1. BenefitsCal website - She can log in to her account and go to the 'Electronic Benefit Transfer (EBT)' section. There should be an option to view transaction history, but it might only go back 3 months. 2. EBT Customer Service Line - Call 1-877-328-9677 and request a transaction history. They can usually mail one or sometimes email a PDF. 3. County office - Yes, they can print her payment history, but as you mentioned, the wait times are horrible. 4. MyBenefits CalWIN - If her county uses CalWIN, she might be able to access payment history there too. Make sure she specifically asks for "CalWORKs payment history for 2022" not just EBT transactions (which would include CalFresh food benefits too if she gets those).

•Thank you for the detailed response! We tried the BenefitsCal website but could only see 3 months back like you mentioned. I'll help her call the EBT customer service line tomorrow. Do you know if they can email the history or only mail it? The deadline is so tight I'm worried regular mail won't arrive in time.

•Thats so frustrating!! The system is designed to make us fail I swear. I never understand why they cant make this stuff easier to access online. Its 2025 for crying out loud, we shouldnt have to spend days on the phone or take time off work for a simple printout.

I work with housing voucher recipients and deal with this frequently. Here's what works best: 1. Call the EBT customer service number (1-877-328-9677) - specifically ask for a "Benefit Issuance History" for CalWORKs for the date range needed. They CAN email it in most counties now, but you need to specifically request email delivery. 2. If that doesn't work, have her contact her property manager and ask if they'll accept an alternative form of verification like her Notice of Action letters or bank statements showing the deposits. 3. As a last resort, try using Claimyr (claimyr.com) to get through to a live person at the county office. I've had clients who used this service to get quickly connected instead of waiting on hold for hours. They have a demo video showing how it works: https://youtu.be/jzISHxCPLwE The county office can provide a complete benefit history printout that's officially stamped, which property managers usually prefer.

•Thank you for these detailed options! I never heard of that Claimyr service before - looks interesting. We're going to try the EBT customer service line first thing tomorrow and specifically ask for email delivery. If that doesn't work, we might try Claimyr as a backup since she really can't miss more work to visit the office in person. I appreciate the expert advice!

•Good thought, but she's already checked and doesn't have anything like that in her email. Her caseworker hasn't been very responsive lately. I think we'll need to get it through one of the other methods suggested here.

Anyone telling you to use BenefitsCal for this is giving bad advice. The system ONLY shows 3 months of history maximum. I had to get a full year of CalWORKs payment history for my divorce proceedings and the ONLY way I could get it was: 1. Call the EBT customer service (took 3 tries to get someone helpful) 2. Ask specifically for "CalWORKs Benefit Issuance History" for the EXACT date range 3. They can email it but you MUST have the email address that's on file with your county office If your client doesn't have an email on file with the county, they'll have to mail it which takes 7-10 business days usually. The affordable housing people might also accept bank statements if the CalWORKs deposits are clearly labeled. Worth asking if they're flexible.

•Yes this is exactly right. I work for a non-profit that helps with housing and the EBT customer service line is the fastest way. If you call early morning (right when they open) you usually get through faster. Make sure she knows her EBT card number and the last 4 digits of her SSN before calling.

tell her to try getting her bank statements too as backup!!! sometimes the housing people will accept that if it shows the cash aid deposits clearly!!! saved me when i couldnt get the paperwork in time!!

Just wanted to follow up - did your client manage to get the CalWORKs payment history? If the EBT customer service didn't work out, another option is to have her contact her county's ombudsperson. Every county has one, and they can often help push these urgent requests through faster than the regular channels. Let us know what ended up working!

•Yes! Thank you for checking back. We were able to get it through the EBT customer service line after calling first thing in the morning as someone suggested. They emailed the CalWORKs payment history within 24 hours. The bank statements were a good backup too - we submitted both to her property manager and they accepted the documentation. She's all set for her affordable housing recertification now. Thank you all for the helpful advice!

So glad to hear it worked out! This is exactly why I love this community - we all help each other navigate these confusing systems. For anyone else reading this thread who might need CalWORKs payment history in the future, here's the key takeaways: 1) Call EBT customer service (1-877-328-9677) early morning when they open, 2) Ask specifically for "CalWORKs Benefit Issuance History" for your exact date range, 3) Request email delivery if you have an email on file with your county, and 4) Have your EBT card number and last 4 SSN digits ready. Bank statements showing the deposits can also work as backup documentation. Thanks everyone for sharing your experiences - this thread will definitely help others facing the same urgent housing recertification deadlines!

As a newer member here, I just want to say how amazing this community is! Reading through this thread really shows how we support each other through these bureaucratic nightmares. I've bookmarked this for future reference since I'm sure I'll need CalWORKs payment records at some point too. The fact that you all not only helped solve the urgent problem but also took time to summarize the best approaches for others is exactly what makes this space so valuable. It's intimidating dealing with county offices and EBT systems when you're new to it all, but seeing how knowledgeable and helpful everyone is here gives me confidence that I'll be able to get help when I need it. Thank you for creating such a supportive environment!

•I completely agree! As someone who just joined this community, I'm blown away by how supportive everyone is here. This whole thread is like a masterclass in navigating the CalWORKs system - from the original panic about getting payment history to the successful resolution with clear steps for others to follow. It's so refreshing to find a place where people actually help each other instead of just complaining about the system (though the complaints are totally valid!). I'm definitely saving this thread for reference too. Thank you to everyone who shared their experiences and solutions!
