Can't find SAR7 form on BenefitsCal website - where exactly is it located?
I'm trying to submit my SAR7 report for CalWORKs but I'm getting so frustrated with the BenefitsCal website. I've been looking everywhere but can't find where to upload or complete my SAR7. My worker told me I could do it online instead of mailing it in, but didn't explain how to find it. Can anyone tell me exactly where on BenefitsCal the SAR7 form is located? My reporting month is due in 2 weeks and I don't want my Cash Aid to stop because I can't find the right form. The website is so confusing!

i had same problem last month! you have to login to your benefitscal account and then click on 'documents' tab at top part of the page. then there should be a button that says 'submit a report' or something like that. click it and one of the options will be SAR7. the whole websites confusing tbh

Thank you! I'll try looking under Documents again. I think I was only checking the Messages section before. Do you know if it shows up only when it's actually due? My worker said something about a specific 'reporting window'?

The SAR7 form isn't always visible on BenefitsCal until your specific reporting window opens. Here's exactly how to find it:1. Log into your BenefitsCal account2. Click on \

this is why the system is such GARBAGE. they tell us to do everything online but then half the features don't work or only show up \

I understand your frustration. The online system is still inconsistent between counties. If you're having trouble reaching your worker by phone, you might try using Claimyr (claimyr.com). It's a service that helps you get through to CalWORKs workers without waiting on hold for hours. They have a video showing how it works: https://youtu.be/jzISHxCPLwE. It saved me hours of frustration when I had a similar issue with my SAR7 not being processed correctly.

Omg i literaly spent 3 hours looking for this last week!! My caseworker also said to do it online but i couldn't find it anywhere!!! Then I called and the recording said my wait time would be 2 HOURS just to talk to someone! In my county (Alameda) the SAR7 only shows up under Documents when ur in the reporting month. Not before. So if ur due date is like the 5th of the month, it won't show up on BenefitsCal until the 1st of that month. Its so stupid but thats how it works. Hope this helps u!!!

There are actually four different ways you can complete your SAR7 for CalWORKs:1. Online through BenefitsCal (under Documents → Submit Reports → SAR7)2. Download the PDF form from the BenefitsCal website, fill it out, and upload it3. Complete it at your county office in person4. Mail in the paper form if they sent you oneFor the online option, timing matters. The SAR7 form usually becomes available on BenefitsCal on the 1st day of your reporting month and remains available through the submission deadline (usually the 5th of the following month). Also, make sure you're checking in the right section. Sometimes it appears under \

This is super helpful, thank you! No one ever explained all these options. I think I need to wait until my reporting month actually starts. My worker sent me a paper copy too, but she said doing it online would be faster for processing. I'll check all these sections when the 1st comes around.

btw if u dont see it online call ur worker asap! sometimes they need to fix something on their end to make it show up for u. also, did u add the benefitscal app to ur phone? sometimes the app works better than the website for some reason

Totally agree about calling right away! I didn't see my SAR7 last month and waited until the day before it was due to panic and call. Turns out they had to

I didn't know there was an app! I'll download that too. And yes, I'm going to call tomorrow if I still don't see it. I'm worried because last time I called it took forever to get through to anyone.

Just an additional tip: When you do find and complete your SAR7 online, be sure to take screenshots of your confirmation page and save them. The system sometimes has glitches where it shows you've submitted, but the county doesn't receive it. Having proof of submission has saved many people from having their benefits discontinued unnecessarily.

Update: I finally found it! It wasn't showing up because my reporting period hadn't started yet, just like many of you said. I called my county office (took forever to get through) and they confirmed it would appear on the 1st. Sure enough, logged in this morning and there it was under Documents > Submit Reports. Thanks everyone for your help!

So glad you found it! This is such a common problem and it's frustrating that they don't make it clearer about the timing. For future reference, you can also set up email notifications in your BenefitsCal account settings to get reminders when forms become available. I learned this the hard way after missing a deadline once. Also, if you ever have trouble getting through by phone again, try calling right when they open at 8am - the wait times are usually shorter then.

•That's a great tip about the email notifications! I had no idea that was an option. I'm definitely going to set that up right now so I don't have to stress about this again next time. And thanks for the advice about calling at 8am - I was calling in the afternoon when everyone else probably is too. Really appreciate all the helpful tips from everyone in this thread!
