FAFSA processed for triplets but no SAI showing in MY AID section - how to find it?
I've spent the last 3 weeks trying to figure this out and I'm totally stumped! I have triplets all applying to college for Fall 2025, and we submitted their FAFSA applications in October. All three applications now show as "processed" when they log in to studentaid.gov, but when they click on "MY AID" there's absolutely NOTHING listed. No SAI number anywhere! How are we supposed to know what their Student Aid Index is if it's not showing up? We need this info ASAP for scholarship applications at their top choice schools. Has anyone else with multiple students experienced this? Is there another place to find the SAI that I'm missing?

same thing happened with my twins last year. the SAI should be on their SAR (Student Aid Report) which they can access by clicking on "View SAR" in their account. if they cant find that try checking emails bc they might have been sent a PDF.

•Thanks, I'll have them check for the SAR. We've looked through all their emails (even spam folders) and haven't found anything with SAI numbers yet. Is there a delay between "processed" status and when the SAR becomes available?

The SAI should be visible in two places: 1. On the Student Aid Report (SAR) which can be accessed by clicking on "View Student Aid Report (SAR)" on their dashboard after logging in 2. Under the "Aid Summary" section once they've been fully processed If it shows as processed but no SAI is appearing, there might be an issue with their application that needs addressing. It's not uncommon for the system to mark something as "processed" but still have outstanding issues that prevent the SAI from being calculated. Have you checked if there's a "To Do" list or any action items in their accounts?

•I'll have them look for the "To Do" list. The strange thing is that none of them have any alerts or notices saying there are problems with their applications. Wouldn't they get some kind of notification if there were issues preventing the SAI calculation?

my daughter had this EXACT problem!! it was so frustrating! turns out "processed" doesn't mean the SAI is ready yet. it took like 5 more days after it said processed for the actual SAI to show up. just keep checking back every day.

•Oh that's good to know! We'll keep checking daily. Did you ever get any email notification when the SAI finally appeared, or did you just have to keep logging in to check?

There's actually a technical difference between "processed" and "completed" in the FAFSA system. When an application is marked "processed," it means they've received all the information and begun working on it. The SAI calculation happens at the "completed" stage, which can take 3-7 additional business days after the processed status appears. For triplets, make sure each of them used their own unique FSA ID and email address. I've seen cases where multiple students from the same household get their applications linked incorrectly in the system, especially with multiples. Also, check if any of them were selected for verification. This would delay the SAI calculation until the verification process is complete. Look for a verification flag on their Student Aid Report.

I went through this nightmare with my twins last month! After fighting with the website for weeks, I finally got through to a real person at Federal Student Aid who explained everything. They told me there was a data processing delay affecting multiple-student households that wasn't showing up as an error. I used Claimyr to get through to an actual person at FSA after wasting hours on hold. Their service connects you to a FAFSA agent without the wait time - I just went to claimyr.com and they handled the calling part. They have a video showing how it works: https://youtu.be/TbC8dZQWYNQ The agent was able to see that our applications were stuck in some weird limbo status and manually pushed them through to completion. Within 48 hours, all the SAI numbers appeared in both kids' accounts.

WHY is the FAFSA system ALWAYS such a disaster?! Every single year there's some new glitch or problem. I work in college counseling and we're seeing this multiple-student household issue all over the place. The "processed" status is basically meaningless this year because of all the system delays. The entire 2025-2026 cycle has been a nightmare with the new "improved" form. I've had families waiting 5+ weeks for SAI calculations. FSA staff are completely overwhelmed and their stupid helpline is useless when you can't even get through. My advice? Keep documentation of EVERYTHING. Screenshot the processed status, all emails, and any communication. If your kids have approaching scholarship deadlines, contact the schools directly and explain the FAFSA delay. Most schools are aware of these issues and have processes for handling it.

•Thank you for the validation that it's not just us! I'll definitely start taking screenshots. Two of my triplets have scholarship deadlines next week that require the SAI number. I'll reach out to the financial aid offices directly as you suggested.

One additional suggestion: have your triplets go to the "FAFSA Processing Results" section of their accounts. Sometimes the SAI appears there before it shows up in the main dashboard. Also, check if the ISIR (Institutional Student Information Record) has been sent to their selected schools. The schools might actually have received the SAI even if it's not visible to you yet. If you're still not seeing anything by the end of this week, you should definitely contact FSA directly. Multiple-student households sometimes trigger additional verification algorithms in the system even when there's no explicit verification flag.

•Thanks for the additional suggestions! I didn't know about the "FAFSA Processing Results" section - we'll check that immediately. I appreciate everyone's help with this frustrating situation!

•That's a really good idea! I'll have them call their top choice schools tomorrow to see if the SAI is visible on the school's end. That would solve our immediate problem with the scholarship deadlines.
