FAFSA application glitch - refund still not received after weeks. Help!
Hey everyone, I'm having some serious issues with my FAFSA application. I submitted it a while ago but there seems to be some kind of glitch in the system. I still haven't received my refund and it's been weeks. Has anyone else experienced this? Any advice on how to get this sorted out? I'm really stressing about my financial aid for next semester.

Ugh, FAFSA is such a pain! I had a similar issue last year. Have you tried calling their helpline? It took me forever to get through, but they were able to fix the glitch on their end.

•I've been trying to call for days but the wait times are insane. I can never get through to a real person 😫

•Pro tip: call right when they open in the morning. You might have better luck getting through!

I found a way to actually get someone on the phone. I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. Here's a video about it: https://youtu.be/TbC8dZQWYNQ

•Sounds too good to be true. Is this legit?

•I was skeptical at first too, but it really did work for me. Saved me hours of frustration.

•20 bucks tho? Thats kinda steep for a phone call...

•I get it, but for me it was worth it. Time is money, and I wasted way more than $20 worth of time trying to get through on my own.

Have you checked your school's financial aid office? Sometimes they can help push things through or at least give you more info about whats going on with your application.

This might sound crazy, but have you tried reaching out to your local congressperson's office? They sometimes have staff dedicated to helping constituents with federal issues like FAFSA problems. Worth a shot if nothing else is working!

•I second this! My friend had a similar issue and her rep's office sorted it out in like a week. Def worth trying!

Here's what I've learned from dealing with FAFSA issues in the past: 1. Document everything. Keep a log of all your calls, emails, and interactions with FAFSA and your school. 2. Be persistent. Sometimes you have to call multiple times to get someone who can actually help. 3. Check your FAFSA account online regularly. Sometimes there are updates or requests for additional info that don't get communicated well. 4. If you're really stuck, consider filing a complaint with the Federal Student Aid Ombudsman Group. They can sometimes intervene in tricky cases. 5. Don't forget to check your spam folder! Sometimes important emails end up there. 6. If all else fails, see if your school's financial aid office can offer any emergency assistance while you're waiting for the FAFSA issue to be resolved. Hope this helps! Hang in there, OP. The system is frustrating, but you'll get through this.

Have you tried checking your application status online? Sometimes there are error codes or messages that can give you a clue about what's going wrong.

•I did check online, but everything looks normal on my end. That's what's so confusing about this whole thing!

•Hmm, that is weird. Might be worth trying to submit a correction just to see if it kickstarts something in their system?

Not to freak you out, but make sure this isn't some kind of scam or identity theft situation. Double check that you're using the official FAFSA website (should end in .gov) and maybe run a credit check just to be safe.

•Oh geez, I hadn't even thought of that 😰 I'm pretty sure I used the right site, but I'll definitely double check. Thanks for the heads up!
