Cannot view FAFSA summary after submission - only see correction link?

I submitted my FAFSA about 2 weeks ago and tried to check my application summary online, but I can't find it anywhere on studentaid.gov. When I log in, all I can see is the link to 'Make FAFSA Corrections' but no option to actually view what I submitted originally. I followed all the steps in the confirmation email but still nothing. Am I missing something obvious? I want to double-check some answers before I start making corrections, especially about my parent contribution section. Has anyone else had trouble viewing their complete FAFSA summary after submission?

Did you actually get through to someone when you called? I've tried twice and gave up after being on hold for 40+ minutes each time.

The FAFSA summary view is a bit hidden in the new 2025-2026 system. After logging in, you need to go to your dashboard, then select 'My FAFSA' from the menu. Next, scroll down past the correction option and look for 'View Processed FAFSA' or sometimes it's under 'FAFSA Status'. The full summary PDF should be available there once your application is fully processed (which takes 3-5 business days). If you only see the correction link, it might mean your FAFSA is still in the processing stage.

Thank you! I tried looking for 'My FAFSA' but don't see that option specifically. I definitely see 'FAFSA Status' but when I click there it just shows 'Processed' with my SAI score and the correction link. No PDF or full summary anywhere. Maybe mine is glitched?

I had this EXACT same issue earlier this year! It's not you - it's the new FAFSA system being terrible. What worked for me was clicking on the 'Make FAFSA Corrections' link, which actually opens your full application in edit mode. You can view everything there without actually submitting any changes. Just DON'T click submit at the end unless you actually want to make corrections! Just close the window when you're done reviewing.

OMG thank you! That makes so much sense. I was afraid to click on the corrections link because I didn't want to mess anything up. I'll try that approach!

The new FAFSA system is HORRIBLE!!! They completely ruined what used to work fine. I couldn't find my summary either and wasted HOURS trying to get through to someone. When I finally did reach a person, they couldn't even help me and just told me to 'check back in a few days.' Like that helps with a deadline approaching!!! 🤬

I feel you! My daughter's application showed as 'processed' but we couldn't see any details for TWO WEEKS. The most frustrating part was not knowing if we made a mistake that would affect her aid package.

Financial aid advisor here. This is a known issue with the new FAFSA system. While some users can access their summary via the 'FAFSA Status' page, many cannot. The most reliable method currently is actually going through the correction portal as someone mentioned above. You can view all your information there without submitting changes. Another option: if you need an official PDF of your submitted FAFSA for verification purposes, you should have received an email with your SAI score that contains a link to download your Student Aid Report (SAR). This SAR document contains all your submitted information and is the official record of your FAFSA submission. Check your email (including spam folder) for a message from noreply@studentaid.gov titled 'Your Student Aid Report (SAR) Is Available' or something similar.

Thank you for the clear explanation! I did get the SAI score email but there was no link to download the SAR - just my score number and confirmation that it was processed. I'll try the correction portal method for now. Much appreciated!

I dealt with the same frustration last month when I couldn't view my son's FAFSA summary. After struggling with the website, I discovered Claimyr (claimyr.com) which helped me actually reach a Federal Student Aid agent in about 10 minutes instead of waiting for hours. They have a video demo at https://youtu.be/TbC8dZQWYNQ that shows how it works. The agent I spoke with explained that for many users, the summary view isn't working properly in the new system, but they could email me a copy of the complete submission. Saved me so much frustration!

Does that service actually work? I spent literally 4 HOURS on hold last week trying to ask about my verification issues and never got through.

Yes, it worked surprisingly well for me! I was skeptical too after multiple failed attempts to reach someone. But I got connected with an actual FSA agent who could access my full application details and answer specific questions about my son's dependent status verification.

YES!! I thought I was going crazy! The summary appeared for me on a Tuesday, then Wednesday it was gone, then it randomly showed up again a week later. The FAFSA website is a complete mess this year.

Quick update on this issue: The Department of Education acknowledged there's a technical problem with the summary view feature in a bulletin last week. They're supposedly working on a fix, but in the meantime, the official recommendation is exactly what others have mentioned - use the correction pathway to review your submission without saving changes. For those who need official documentation, you should request your Student Aid Report through the FSA Information Center by phone (which is challenging) or through the feedback form in your account (which can take 5-7 business days).

Thank you for this update! At least it's good to know it's not just me doing something wrong. I'll try the correction pathway approach first, and if I need the official documentation, I'll try the feedback form route. Really appreciate the help everyone!

I'm dealing with this exact same issue right now! It's so frustrating because I need to verify some information before my school's financial aid deadline next week. I tried the correction portal method that @Diego Vargas suggested and it actually worked perfectly - I could see all my submitted information without having to make any changes. Just make sure you don't accidentally hit submit at the end! The new FAFSA system really is a mess compared to previous years. Thanks everyone for the helpful workarounds!

@Amina Diallo I m'so glad that method worked for you too! I was worried about recommending it since it feels like a hack "but" it really seems to be the most reliable way to view your submission right now. Good luck with your financial aid deadline - hopefully they get this summary view issue fixed soon so future applicants don t'have to jump through these hoops!

I'm having the exact same problem! Submitted my FAFSA three weeks ago and can only see the correction link when I log in. It's really stressful not being able to double-check what I submitted, especially since this is my first time doing FAFSA and I'm worried I might have made errors. I tried the correction portal method that several people mentioned here and it worked great - I could see all my information without making any changes. Just be super careful not to click submit unless you actually want to make corrections! Really hoping they fix this summary view issue soon because this workaround shouldn't be necessary.
