If I could give 10 stars I would

If I could give 10 stars I would If I could give 10 stars I would Such an amazing service so needed during the times when EDD almost never picks up Claimyr gets me on the phone with EDD every time without fail faster. A much needed service without Claimyr I would have never received the payment I needed to support me during my postpartum recovery. Thank you so much Claimyr!

Really made a difference

Really made a difference, save me time and energy from going to a local office for making the call.

Worth not wasting your time calling for hours.

Was a bit nervous or untrusting at first, but my calls went thru. First time the wait was a bit long but their customer chat line on their page was helpful and put me at ease that I would receive my call. Today my call dropped because of EDD and Claimyr heard my concern on the same chat and another call was made within the hour.

An incredibly helpful service

An incredibly helpful service! Got me connected to a CA EDD agent without major hassle (outside of EDD's agents dropping calls – which Claimyr has free protection for). If you need to file a new claim and can't do it online, pay the $ to Claimyr to get the process started. Absolutely worth it!

Consistent,frustration free, quality Service.

Used this service a couple times now. Before I'd call 200 times in less than a weak frustrated as can be. But using claimyr with a couple hours of waiting i was on the line with an representative or on hold. Dropped a couple times but each reconnected not long after and was mission accomplished, thanks to Claimyr.

IT WORKS!! Not a scam!

I tried for weeks to get thru to EDD PFL program with no luck. I gave this a try thinking it may be a scam. OMG! It worked and They got thru within an hour and my claim is going to finally get paid!! I upgraded to the $60 call. Best $60 spent!

has anybody noticed if putting different email addresses for each kid makes the processing faster or slower?? wondering if that matters

Email addresses shouldn't affect processing times directly. However, using unique email addresses for each student is strongly recommended because it helps prevent login issues and ensures verification notices and other communications go to the correct student. The factors that primarily affect processing speed are: whether the student is a first-time or returning applicant, whether they've been selected for verification, and if there are any discrepancies in the application data that require manual review.

my son's fafsa got rejected THREE TIMES even though we entered everything right! turned out his social security number had a typo that i didnt catch. double check all the basic info before submitting!

Thanks for the reminder - I double-checked both applications and all the information looks correct. I guess it's just the processing queue that's different.

Here's an update: I spoke to a financial aid administrator yesterday who explained that there are actually THREE different processing steps happening now: 1. The initial submission verification (which generates the first "processed" email) 2. The data matching verification (where they compare your information with IRS and other systems) 3. The final SAI calculation (which is when your application is truly complete) She said at least 40% of applications are getting stuck between steps 2 and 3 right now. The good news is that colleges are aware of these issues and many are extending their priority financial aid deadlines. You might want to check with your daughter's school to see if they've announced any extensions due to the FAFSA delays.

This is really helpful information! I'll definitely check with her college about deadline extensions. At least we're not alone in this mess.

UPDATE: Finally got through to FSA this morning! The problem was that my husband's social security number had an incorrect digit in the system, even though we entered it correctly on our form. They said their OCR system sometimes misreads numbers during processing. The agent fixed it immediately and said our application should be fully processed within 3-5 business days. Thank you everyone for your help and suggestions! This forum saved my sanity.

SEE?? Their "OCR system" conveniently making errors that delay people's applications. How many students just give up when this happens?? The whole system is rigged.

Great news! For anyone else reading this thread with similar issues - this type of OCR/data entry error is actually quite common this year. Always double-check all personal information like SSNs, birthdates, and name spellings if you get unexplained status changes or missing information notices.

Update from someone who's been through this process multiple times: if you've already received aid offers from schools, you don't necessarily need to panic. Even if your SAI changes slightly after the review, many schools won't adjust your financial aid package unless there's a substantial change (usually over 10-15% difference in your SAI). Some schools have a policy of honoring their initial aid offer even if your FAFSA gets adjusted later, especially if you're close to the deposit deadline. If you're really concerned, contact the financial aid offices at the specific schools rather than just FAFSA.

That's a good point - I'll reach out to the financial aid offices at her top choice schools tomorrow as well. Thank you!

UPDATE: I finally got through to someone at FSA this morning! Apparently the review was triggered because my employer submitted a corrected W-2 in February (there was a small error in reported retirement contributions that changed our AGI by about $200). The agent said the review is standard procedure when tax documents get amended, and that such a small change wouldn't impact our SAI enough to change aid offers. She marked our file as urgent since we're approaching decision deadlines, and said the review should be completed within 5-7 business days. Thanks everyone for your advice!

Glad you got answers! That's honestly the best outcome - just a minor verification that won't affect your aid.

my daughter's financial aid advisor told us the whole system is still buggy. even if everything looks fine now, print out confirmation pages of EVERYTHING and keep checking the status every couple weeks. my niece thought her fafsa was all done but then 2 months later got an email saying there was a problem with the parent section that needed fixing.

0 coins

That's good advice. I'll make sure to take screenshots of all the confirmation pages and keep checking the status regularly. I don't want any surprises popping up months later!

To provide some additional clarity: Under the FAFSA Simplification Act, the 2025-2026 application simplifies the parent contribution process for married couples filing jointly. When spouses file taxes jointly, the primary financial information is collected from whichever parent was entered first in the application. The system generates an accurate Student Aid Index (SAI) calculation using the household's joint tax information without requiring both parents to individually submit information. Your daughter's application is processing correctly based on what you've described.

Thank you for the detailed explanation! That makes perfect sense now. We've confirmed her application is complete and shows a submission confirmation number. The SAI calculation should be based on our joint income then, which is exactly what we wanted. I really appreciate everyone's help in figuring this out!

Just wanted to mention that the FAFSA website has been having tons of issues this application cycle. My daughter and I had to try 5 different times over several days before we could get through all the sections properly. So frustrating! Keep trying and don't submit until you can enter all your information correctly.

UPDATE: Success! After trying multiple browsers and getting nowhere, I used Claimyr to reach an FSA agent (took about 20 minutes to get connected). The agent confirmed there's a known glitch affecting some renewal applications. They had me create a new FAFSA ID and start a fresh application rather than using the renewal option. This time all sections appeared correctly including the income questions! For anyone else experiencing this: DO NOT SUBMIT without income information. It's absolutely required and your application will either be rejected or flagged for verification, which will significantly delay your aid. Better to start fresh than submit incomplete info. Thank you all for your help!

Great solution! This is exactly right - sometimes the renewal process can inherit corrupted data structures from previous applications. Starting fresh ensures all required sections are properly presented. Thanks for sharing your resolution, this will help others facing the same issue.
