Where can I find my Washington ESD unemployment account number?
I've been looking everywhere for my unemployment account number and can't seem to locate it. I need it to set up direct deposit but I don't see it anywhere on my SecureAccess Washington portal or in any of the emails they've sent me. Does anyone know where Washington ESD puts this information? I've tried calling but you know how that goes...

Check your monetary determination letter that Washington ESD mailed you when you first filed. The account number should be printed on that document, usually in the top right corner or header section.

•I think I threw that letter away thinking it wasn't important. Is there another way to get it?

•You can request a duplicate monetary determination through your online account, or it might also be on your weekly claim confirmation emails if you look closely.

its also on the debit card they send you if you didnt sign up for direct deposit yet. the account number is printed on the back of the card with all the other info

•I haven't gotten a debit card yet, my claim is still in adjudication. How long does that usually take?

•adjudication can take weeks unfortunately. mine took almost a month last year

If you're having trouble reaching Washington ESD by phone, I had good luck with Claimyr (claimyr.com). They helped me get through to an actual agent who could look up my account details. There's a demo video at https://youtu.be/7DieNd3C7zQ that shows how it works. Saved me hours of trying to call myself.

•Never heard of that service before. Is it legit or some kind of scam?

Sebastián Stevens
•It's legitimate - they just help you get through the phone queue faster. I was skeptical at first too but it actually worked.

•Anything has to be better than sitting on hold for 3 hours just to get disconnected. I'll check it out.

The account number might also be buried in your online account somewhere. Log into your Washington ESD portal and look under account settings or profile information. Sometimes it's not obvious where they put it.

•I've looked everywhere in there and can't find it. The interface is so confusing.

•Try looking under the 'Payment Information' or 'Direct Deposit' sections. It has to be somewhere in there for banking purposes.

WHY IS EVERYTHING WITH WASHINGTON ESD SO COMPLICATED! I spent 2 hours yesterday trying to find my account number just to update my banking info. This system is a nightmare.

•I feel you. The whole unemployment system seems designed to make things as difficult as possible.

•I know it's frustrating but the account number should definitely be on your monetary determination letter or in your online account somewhere.

also check any payment stubs if youve gotten any payments yet. the account number shows up there too along with your claim details

•No payments yet since I'm still in adjudication. This is so stressful.

Just to follow up on the Claimyr suggestion - I used them again last week to get clarification on my job search requirements and was able to speak with someone within 15 minutes. Much better than the usual phone runaround.

•How much does something like that cost though?

•It's worth it when you consider how much time you save not sitting on hold. Plus you actually get to talk to someone who can help.

UPDATE: I found it! It was in one of the confirmation emails from when I filed my weekly claim. Had to scroll way down to the fine print section but it was there. Thanks everyone for the help!

•Great news! That's another place they hide it. Good to know for future reference.

For anyone else looking for this info - I just checked and my account number also appears on the 'Claim Summary' page in the Washington ESD online portal. It's in small text under the claim details section.

•Thanks for that tip! I was looking for mine too and found it right where you said.

•No problem. Washington ESD really should make this information easier to find.

I called Washington ESD directly and they were able to give me my account number over the phone after verifying my identity. Took a while to get through but they were helpful.

•How long were you on hold? I tried calling 3 times yesterday and gave up each time after an hour.

•About 45 minutes. I called right when they opened at 8am which might have helped.

Pro tip: if you're setting up direct deposit, make sure you have both your account number AND routing number ready. Washington ESD requires both and won't let you save partial information.

Leo McDonald
•Good to know! I have both now so I should be all set.

Amaya Watson
•Perfect. The direct deposit usually takes effect within 1-2 business days once you set it up.

I had to go to a WorkSource office to get help finding my account number. The staff there was able to pull it up immediately and even helped me set up direct deposit on the spot.

•thats a good option if you have a worksource office nearby. they can access your account directly

•Exactly, and they're usually much less busy than the phone lines. Worth the trip if you're having trouble.

One more thing about Claimyr - they were also helpful when I had questions about my standby status and whether I needed to do job searches. The agent was able to explain the specific requirements for my situation.

•That's actually really useful. I'm on standby too and wasn't sure about the job search thing.

•Definitely worth asking about. The rules can be confusing and it's better to get clarification than risk a problem later.

For what it's worth, I also found my account number on the letter they sent about my job search requirements. It was at the bottom of the page in the footer section.

•Good point. Seems like Washington ESD puts the account number on most of their correspondence, just not always in obvious places.

Savannah Weiner
•Exactly. You just have to know where to look for it.

I'm still waiting for any paperwork from Washington ESD. Filed 2 weeks ago and haven't received anything in the mail yet. Is that normal?
0 coins
Jessica Nolan
•It can take 7-10 business days for the monetary determination letter to arrive. If it's been longer than that, you might want to call and check on it.

Libby Hassan
•Thanks, I'll give it a few more days before I start worrying.

•If you do need to call, consider using Claimyr to avoid the long hold times. Makes the whole process much less stressful.

Question about account numbers - do they change if you file a new claim in a different benefit year? Or is it always the same number?
0 coins
Jessica Nolan
•Good question. I believe you keep the same account number across different benefit years, but the claim number changes for each new claim you file.
0 coins
KingKongZilla
•That's correct. Your account number stays the same but each claim gets its own unique claim number.

This whole thread has been super helpful! I was getting ready to drive to the Washington ESD office in person but now I know exactly where to look for my account number.

One last tip - if you're using mobile banking, some apps will let you take a picture of your account number from the Washington ESD documents to automatically fill in the direct deposit form. Saves typing errors.

Amaya Watson
•That's a great tip! Typing errors with account numbers can cause real problems with payments.

•Exactly. Better to be safe than sorry when it comes to banking information.

Another place to check is your initial claim confirmation page when you log into the Washington ESD portal. If you go to "View Claim Details" or "Claim History," the account number is often displayed at the top of that page along with your claim status. I found mine there when I couldn't locate my monetary determination letter. Also, make sure you're checking all folders in your email - sometimes those ESD emails end up in spam or promotions folders.

Mohammad Khaled
•That's a really helpful tip about checking the spam folder! I almost missed an important ESD email because it went to my promotions tab in Gmail. The claim details page sounds like another good place to look - I'll have to remember that for next time.
