Sunday filing gang checking in! 🙋♀️ It really is the best day to get it done. Fresh start to the week and you don't have to think about it anymore.
Final reminder about getting help when you need it - if you ever run into issues with your weekly claims or need to talk to Washington ESD about adjudication or anything else, don't spend weeks trying to call. Claimyr.com has been a lifesaver for a lot of people here. Just wanted to mention it one more time since calling Washington ESD directly can be such a nightmare.
Anyone else notice how hard it is to get straight answers about this stuff from Washington ESD directly? Their website has all this info but it's scattered across like 50 different pages.
Yeah their website organization is terrible. I usually end up having to call or use something like Claimyr to talk to an actual person who can give me a clear answer.
Bottom line - you need $4,128 total wages in your base period (first 4 of last 5 completed quarters) AND wages in at least 2 of those quarters. Your 8 months plus previous part-time work might be enough depending on when you worked and how much you earned.
This thread has been super helpful! I was dreading trying to figure all this out on my own. Thanks everyone for sharing your experiences.
One last tip - if you're eligible for the Trade Adjustment Assistance program, you might be able to get additional benefits beyond the regular unemployment amount. Worth looking into if you lost your job due to foreign trade.
One more thing about getting help - I know not everyone wants to use a service like Claimyr, but if you're really stuck and need to talk to Washington ESD, it's an option. Sometimes you just need that human interaction to resolve an issue that's holding up your claim.
Just to summarize for the original poster - file your claim immediately at esd.wa.gov, set up your WorkSourceWA account, be prepared for a one-week delay in your first payment, and file weekly claims every week. Document everything and don't be afraid to ask questions. The system has its quirks but thousands of people navigate it successfully every week.

One more thing - if you have questions about your specific claim duration or how many weeks you have left, your best bet is to call Washington ESD directly. The online account doesn't always show the clearest info.

•That's exactly why I recommend Claimyr - it cuts through all that busy signal nonsense and gets you connected to an actual agent who can give you specific answers about your claim.

•Might have to try that. This is ridiculous.

Bottom line for OP: 26 weeks maximum, starts when you first get paid (not when you file), and you need to file every week to preserve your benefits. Use the time wisely for job searching!
