If I could give 10 stars I would

If I could give 10 stars I would If I could give 10 stars I would Such an amazing service so needed during the times when EDD almost never picks up Claimyr gets me on the phone with EDD every time without fail faster. A much needed service without Claimyr I would have never received the payment I needed to support me during my postpartum recovery. Thank you so much Claimyr!

Really made a difference

Really made a difference, save me time and energy from going to a local office for making the call.

Worth not wasting your time calling for hours.

Was a bit nervous or untrusting at first, but my calls went thru. First time the wait was a bit long but their customer chat line on their page was helpful and put me at ease that I would receive my call. Today my call dropped because of EDD and Claimyr heard my concern on the same chat and another call was made within the hour.

An incredibly helpful service

An incredibly helpful service! Got me connected to a CA EDD agent without major hassle (outside of EDD's agents dropping calls – which Claimyr has free protection for). If you need to file a new claim and can't do it online, pay the $ to Claimyr to get the process started. Absolutely worth it!

Consistent,frustration free, quality Service.

Used this service a couple times now. Before I'd call 200 times in less than a weak frustrated as can be. But using claimyr with a couple hours of waiting i was on the line with an representative or on hold. Dropped a couple times but each reconnected not long after and was mission accomplished, thanks to Claimyr.

IT WORKS!! Not a scam!

I tried for weeks to get thru to EDD PFL program with no luck. I gave this a try thinking it may be a scam. OMG! It worked and They got thru within an hour and my claim is going to finally get paid!! I upgraded to the $60 call. Best $60 spent!

One last tip - if your claim goes to adjudication, don't panic. It's normal for disability cases to take longer for review. Washington ESD just needs to verify everything is legitimate.

That's reassuring. I was worried adjudication meant something was wrong with my claim.

NeonNova

Nope, just means they need more time to review. Mine went to adjudication too and everything worked out fine.

This thread should be pinned! So much useful information about disability and unemployment that you can't find anywhere else online.

0 coins

Agreed! Everyone here was super helpful. Thanks again to everyone who shared their experiences.

Happy to help! These situations are stressful enough without having to navigate Washington ESD blind.

The key thing is honesty. Report everything and let Washington ESD do the math. It's better to get a smaller benefit check than to risk an overpayment investigation.

0 coins

Definitely agree. I'd rather be safe than sorry, especially after hearing about that $2800 overpayment earlier in this thread.

0 coins

Exactly. The penalties for not reporting income can be way worse than just the overpayment amount.

One more thing - if you're working part-time for the same employer who laid you off, there might be different rules. Something about 'standby' status. Worth checking on that if it applies to your situation.

0 coins

That doesn't apply to me, but good to know for others who might be in that situation.

0 coins

Yes, standby has different rules. You can work up to 2 days per week without affecting your benefits if you're on standby status with your regular employer.

0 coins

One last thing - make sure you understand the difference between 'able and available' and 'actively seeking work.' You have to be both to qualify for benefits each week. Able and available means you're physically and mentally capable of working and available to accept work. The job search requirement is separate from that.

0 coins

What if you're sick one week? Do you still file a claim?

0 coins

If you're too sick to work, you wouldn't be 'able and available' that week, so you'd answer 'no' to that question on your weekly claim. You might not get paid for that week, but you should still file the claim.

This thread has been super helpful for me too. I'm bookmarking it in case I need to reference it later. Thanks to everyone who shared their experiences!

Same here! It's nice to know there are people who've been through this before and are willing to help.

0 coins

That's what these forums are for. We've all been there and know how stressful it can be when you're dealing with unemployment for the first time.

Don't forget about work search requirements! Even though you just filed, Washington ESD expects you to be actively looking for work from day one. If you haven't started job searching yet, that could be part of the issue.

AstroAce

Yes! You need to log all your job search activities in WorkSourceWA. Three job search activities per week minimum.

0 coins

This is probably it! Lots of people get denied for not properly documenting their work search activities.

0 coins

Whatever the reason for denial, document everything and keep all correspondence from Washington ESD. If you do need to appeal, having a paper trail makes the process much smoother. Good luck!

0 coins

Thank you everyone for all the advice! I'm going to check my work search logs first and then try to get through to Washington ESD to understand the specific denial reason.

0 coins

Smart approach! Let us know how it goes. Hopefully it's something simple that can be fixed quickly.

0 coins

The whole system seems designed to be as confusing as possible. I've been trying to understand my eligibility for weeks and still have questions about my specific situation.

0 coins

Same here! I ended up using that Claimyr service someone mentioned earlier and finally got answers from an actual Washington ESD representative. Worth checking out if you're as frustrated as I was.

0 coins

I might have to try that. I'm tired of getting nowhere with the regular phone system.

0 coins

One more thing to consider - make sure you're meeting all the job search requirements even if you're getting the maximum benefit. Washington ESD requires 3 job search activities per week regardless of your benefit amount.

0 coins

Good reminder. I need to make sure I'm logging those activities properly in the system.

0 coins

Yeah, they can disqualify you for benefits if you don't meet the job search requirements, even if everything else is in order.
