I calculated my benefit amount wrong initially because I forgot about some part-time work I did. Make sure you include ALL your earnings from the base year, even small amounts from temporary jobs.
If you need to talk to Washington ESD about your specific calculation, I'd recommend trying Claimyr again. I was skeptical at first but it really does work better than calling directly. Got through in about 15 minutes when I needed to clarify some base year wage issues.
The bottom line is you need to be completely transparent with both agencies. Don't try to hide your disability from Washington ESD or hide your work availability from the disability office. Honesty is the only way to avoid problems down the road.
Thanks for asking this question OP. I've been wondering the same thing but was too nervous to ask. This thread has been really helpful!
Remember that your benefit amount also determines how long you can collect - you get a certain number of weeks based on your total benefit year amount divided by your weekly benefit.
Bottom line: if you think Washington ESD made an error, appeal it. If the calculation seems right based on your actual earnings during the base period, that's probably what you'll get. Either way, file your weekly claims on time to avoid delays.

My advice is to apply ASAP because even if you qualify, there's always a waiting week before benefits start. Plus if there are any issues to resolve, you want to get the process started as soon as possible.

•Good point about the waiting week. I'll start the application tonight.

For what it's worth, I think you have a decent chance of approval based on what you've described. 8 months of steady work shows good work history, and attendance issues without other misconduct factors usually don't disqualify people. Just be prepared for possible adjudication delays.
