If I could give 10 stars I would

If I could give 10 stars I would If I could give 10 stars I would Such an amazing service so needed during the times when EDD almost never picks up Claimyr gets me on the phone with EDD every time without fail faster. A much needed service without Claimyr I would have never received the payment I needed to support me during my postpartum recovery. Thank you so much Claimyr!

Really made a difference

Really made a difference, save me time and energy from going to a local office for making the call.

Worth not wasting your time calling for hours.

Was a bit nervous or untrusting at first, but my calls went thru. First time the wait was a bit long but their customer chat line on their page was helpful and put me at ease that I would receive my call. Today my call dropped because of EDD and Claimyr heard my concern on the same chat and another call was made within the hour.

An incredibly helpful service

An incredibly helpful service! Got me connected to a CA EDD agent without major hassle (outside of EDD's agents dropping calls – which Claimyr has free protection for). If you need to file a new claim and can't do it online, pay the $ to Claimyr to get the process started. Absolutely worth it!

Consistent,frustration free, quality Service.

Used this service a couple times now. Before I'd call 200 times in less than a weak frustrated as can be. But using claimyr with a couple hours of waiting i was on the line with an representative or on hold. Dropped a couple times but each reconnected not long after and was mission accomplished, thanks to Claimyr.

IT WORKS!! Not a scam!

I tried for weeks to get thru to EDD PFL program with no luck. I gave this a try thinking it may be a scam. OMG! It worked and They got thru within an hour and my claim is going to finally get paid!! I upgraded to the $60 call. Best $60 spent!

Update us on how it goes when you file! Always helpful to hear how these situations actually play out.

Definitely will. Hopefully it'll be straightforward but I'll let you know if there are any surprises.

One last tip - when you do file, be as specific as possible about the severance in your application. Don't just say 'severance pay' - explain exactly what it is and when you received it.

Great advice, specificity is probably better than being vague. Thanks again everyone!

This whole discussion has been super informative. Bookmarking for future reference just in case. Hope everyone here stays employed and doesn't need to use any of this info!

Same here! Thanks everyone for sharing your knowledge and experiences. Hopefully none of us will need it but good to be prepared.

Thread has been really comprehensive. Just want to echo what others said about filing immediately if you do lose your job - every week you wait is money you can't get back. And seriously consider that Claimyr service if you need to reach Washington ESD by phone.

Noted on both points. This thread has definitely given me confidence that I'd know what to do if the situation arises. Really appreciate everyone's input!

Don't forget you also have to be able and available for work to get benefits. So if you have any restrictions on when you can work or what jobs you can take, that might affect your eligibility too.

I'm available full-time and looking actively, so I should be good there. It's really just the wage requirements I'm worried about.

Update: I just applied online and it was easier than I thought. They automatically calculated everything and told me I qualified! My first payment should come next week. Thanks everyone for the help and advice.

Congrats! It's such a relief when you finally get approved after all the worrying.

0 coins

Thanks! Now I just need to make sure I don't mess up the weekly claims. Already set a reminder on my phone to file every Sunday.

The whole application process was surprisingly easy compared to dealing with Washington ESD after you're approved. Filing the initial claim took like 20 minutes online but getting help when something goes wrong is a nightmare.

0 coins

That's what I keep hearing - the application is easy but everything else is hard.

0 coins

That's exactly why services like Claimyr exist. The system works fine until you need human help, then you're stuck in phone hell for hours.

Bottom line for retail workers: if you've been working consistently for at least a year, you'll probably qualify for something. Might not be much but it's better than nothing while you look for your next job. Just file and see what happens.

Thanks everyone! This has been really helpful. I think I'll go ahead and bookmark the Washington ESD site in case I need it.

Good plan. Hope you don't need it but it's smart to be prepared!

I was shocked to learn that if you're receiving a pension from your last employer, it might reduce your unemployment benefits. Washington ESD deducts the pension amount from your weekly benefit. In some cases, it can make you ineligible entirely.

0 coins

Does this apply to 401k withdrawals too?

0 coins

No, just actual pension payments. 401k distributions are treated differently for unemployment purposes.

0 coins

If you're incarcerated, you obviously can't collect unemployment benefits. Some people don't realize this also applies to being in a treatment facility if it's court-ordered or if you can't leave to look for work.

0 coins

What about voluntary treatment programs?

0 coins

If it's voluntary and doesn't interfere with your ability to work, it might be okay. But you'd need to check with Washington ESD first.
