If I could give 10 stars I would

If I could give 10 stars I would If I could give 10 stars I would Such an amazing service so needed during the times when EDD almost never picks up Claimyr gets me on the phone with EDD every time without fail faster. A much needed service without Claimyr I would have never received the payment I needed to support me during my postpartum recovery. Thank you so much Claimyr!

Really made a difference

Really made a difference, save me time and energy from going to a local office for making the call.

Worth not wasting your time calling for hours.

Was a bit nervous or untrusting at first, but my calls went thru. First time the wait was a bit long but their customer chat line on their page was helpful and put me at ease that I would receive my call. Today my call dropped because of EDD and Claimyr heard my concern on the same chat and another call was made within the hour.

An incredibly helpful service

An incredibly helpful service! Got me connected to a CA EDD agent without major hassle (outside of EDD's agents dropping calls – which Claimyr has free protection for). If you need to file a new claim and can't do it online, pay the $ to Claimyr to get the process started. Absolutely worth it!

Consistent,frustration free, quality Service.

Used this service a couple times now. Before I'd call 200 times in less than a weak frustrated as can be. But using claimyr with a couple hours of waiting i was on the line with an representative or on hold. Dropped a couple times but each reconnected not long after and was mission accomplished, thanks to Claimyr.

IT WORKS!! Not a scam!

I tried for weeks to get thru to EDD PFL program with no luck. I gave this a try thinking it may be a scam. OMG! It worked and They got thru within an hour and my claim is going to finally get paid!! I upgraded to the $60 call. Best $60 spent!

The whole unemployment system is such a pain but you really have nothing to lose by filing. Even if you only get benefits for a few weeks while you find another job, that's better than nothing. And if you don't file, you definitely won't get anything.

Very true! I'm going to get my application submitted today. Thanks everyone for all the help and advice!

Just wanted to add that if you do end up needing to contact Washington ESD for any reason during your claim process, that Claimyr service someone mentioned earlier really does work. I used it when I had questions about my job search requirements and it saved me hours of frustration. Sometimes you just need to talk to a real person to get things sorted out.

I'll definitely keep that in mind if I run into any issues. Hopefully the process goes smoothly but it's good to know there are options if I need help.

Just want to add that holds can also happen if Washington ESD is cross-referencing your claim with other state databases. Sometimes there are false matches that need to be cleared up manually.

0 coins

That sounds complicated. How would I even know if that's what happened?

0 coins

You wouldn't know without talking to Washington ESD directly. These backend system issues don't generate notices that claimants can see.

UPDATE: I was able to get through to Washington ESD this morning using that Claimyr thing. Turns out my hold was because I reported working 3 hours last week but didn't report any earnings (I did volunteer work, not paid work). The agent fixed it right away and said my payment should process tonight. Thanks everyone for the help!

Perfect example of why it's important to be very specific when reporting work activities. Volunteer work should be reported differently than paid work.

0 coins

Great outcome! This is a common mix-up we see. Volunteer work hours don't need to be reported as work hours on your weekly claim, but it's good that you got it clarified.

The whole thing is stressful but manageable if you stay organized. Keep all your paperwork, be honest on your claims, and don't be afraid to ask for help when you need it. You'll get through this.

Thanks everyone for all the advice. This has been really helpful and I feel much better about moving forward.

0 coins

Good luck with everything! Hope your workers comp gets approved soon.

0 coins

One more thing - if you end up needing to appeal anything with either workers comp or unemployment, don't wait. The deadlines are strict and you don't want to miss your chance to contest a decision.

0 coins

What are the typical appeal deadlines?

0 coins

For Washington ESD it's usually 30 days from the date of the decision letter. L&I has different deadlines depending on what you're appealing.

My biggest advice is to file your claim as soon as possible after you lose your job. Don't wait thinking you might get called back or that you'll find something quickly. Benefits are retroactive to when you first became unemployed, but only if you file promptly.

0 coins

How soon is 'as soon as possible'? I was laid off last Friday.

0 coins

You should file within the first week after becoming unemployed. Since you were laid off Friday, I'd file today or tomorrow. The sooner you file, the sooner your claim can be processed.

0 coins

Last thing - keep all your paperwork and documentation organized. Save emails from your employer about the layoff, keep copies of your application and any correspondence with ESD, and maintain your job search log. If any issues come up, having good documentation will make resolving them much easier.

Good luck! Remember, you've earned these benefits by working and paying into the system. Don't feel bad about using them when you need them.

0 coins

And if you run into any issues getting through to ESD by phone, definitely consider using Claimyr. It saved me so much frustration when I needed to resolve problems with my claim.

0 coins

One more thing - if you think ESD calculated your benefit amount incorrectly, you can appeal the determination. You have 30 days from when they mail you the decision.

0 coins

Good to know there's an appeal process if something goes wrong.

0 coins

Yeah, but make sure you have documentation to support your appeal. They'll want proof of your earnings.

The whole system seems designed to be as confusing as possible. At least this thread cleared up a lot of questions I had about benefit amounts.

0 coins

Tell me about it. I've been navigating this for months and still learn new things every day.

Well, at least we're all figuring it out together!
