Just wanted to add - keep copies of everything you submit. Screenshots of your application, confirmation numbers, etc. It'll help if there are any issues later.
expect the process to take longer than it should. washington esd is overwhelmed and understaffed. but definitely file asap - every day you wait is money lost
One last thing - keep copies of everything! Screenshot your confirmation pages, save emails, print important documents. If something goes wrong later, you'll need proof of what you submitted and when.
Thanks everyone for all the advice! I'm going to apply today and make sure I mention the safety reporting situation. Feel much more confident about this now.
Hope everything works out for you! Remember that Claimyr option if you need to reach Washington ESD directly for any reason.
Quick question - does the weekly benefit amount change if you're on standby status vs regular unemployment? I'm temporarily laid off but might get called back.
Bottom line: expect roughly 45-50% of your average weekly wage, up to the $999 maximum. It's not going to replace your full income but it's better than nothing while you're job hunting. Just make sure you're actively looking for work and reporting it properly.

Been following this thread and wanted to add that Washington ESD's determination process is actually pretty fair. They look at the facts, not just what employers claim. Stay positive!

•That's what these forums are for. We've all been there and it helps to know you're not alone in dealing with this stuff.

Final tip - don't take too long to file. There are time limits on unemployment claims and you want to get the process started ASAP. Even if you're nervous about it, just submit the application.
