If I could give 10 stars I would

If I could give 10 stars I would If I could give 10 stars I would Such an amazing service so needed during the times when EDD almost never picks up Claimyr gets me on the phone with EDD every time without fail faster. A much needed service without Claimyr I would have never received the payment I needed to support me during my postpartum recovery. Thank you so much Claimyr!

Really made a difference

Really made a difference, save me time and energy from going to a local office for making the call.

Worth not wasting your time calling for hours.

Was a bit nervous or untrusting at first, but my calls went thru. First time the wait was a bit long but their customer chat line on their page was helpful and put me at ease that I would receive my call. Today my call dropped because of EDD and Claimyr heard my concern on the same chat and another call was made within the hour.

An incredibly helpful service

An incredibly helpful service! Got me connected to a CA EDD agent without major hassle (outside of EDD's agents dropping calls – which Claimyr has free protection for). If you need to file a new claim and can't do it online, pay the $ to Claimyr to get the process started. Absolutely worth it!

Consistent,frustration free, quality Service.

Used this service a couple times now. Before I'd call 200 times in less than a weak frustrated as can be. But using claimyr with a couple hours of waiting i was on the line with an representative or on hold. Dropped a couple times but each reconnected not long after and was mission accomplished, thanks to Claimyr.

IT WORKS!! Not a scam!

I tried for weeks to get thru to EDD PFL program with no luck. I gave this a try thinking it may be a scam. OMG! It worked and They got thru within an hour and my claim is going to finally get paid!! I upgraded to the $60 call. Best $60 spent!

this is y our state sucks. esd is broken on purpose so they can steal money from workers. they create these "overpayments" out of nowhere then make it impossible to fight. my friend got hit with $16k overpayment after being told she qualified. its all a scam

While the system certainly has problems, I wouldn't go so far as to say it's intentional. The collections department staff I spoke with was actually very helpful and reasonable. I think it's more about understaffing and poor communication between departments than malicious intent.

Has anyone here had their waiver actually approved? I've been waiting 5 months and I'm losing hope... I'm in a similar situation where ESD approved my benefits initially then suddenly decided I didn't qualify based on some technicality about my work history.

my cousin got hers approved after like 9 months it just randomly showed up in her account one day saying approved. no letter or anything just suddenly the balance was gone

im pretty sure they check everything cuz my friend got caught lying about his hours and had to pay back like $5000 plus they added a penalty. dont mess with esd they will find out eventually

Update: Wanted to share what happened in case anyone finds this thread with the same question. After 6 weeks of working part-time and claiming, I got a letter from ESD saying they're doing a routine audit of my claim. They asked me to submit copies of my paystubs for verification. Just like you all said - they do check! I'm glad I've been reporting everything accurately. Still waiting to hear back after submitting my documentation.

Thanks for the update! This is the typical process. As long as your reported hours match your paystubs, you should be fine. The review usually takes 2-3 weeks to process.

One more thing - if your appeal deadline has already passed, you can request a "good cause" exception for filing a late appeal. The same situation with your wife's hospitalization that prevented you from responding to their documentation request could potentially qualify as good cause for filing a late appeal. Make sure to submit medical documentation and be very specific about how it prevented you from meeting the deadlines.

0 coins

This is correct. ESD does allow for late appeals in some circumstances. Be aware that the standard is fairly strict - they'll want to see that you were effectively unable to file on time, not just that it was difficult. Hospital documentation showing your wife was in critical condition and you were her primary caretaker would be ideal evidence. The fact that you were dealing with multiple family deaths plus a hospitalization creates a compelling case for extending deadlines.

my cousin works at a call center and says most ppl get denied at first just to see if theyll give up!! its like a test!! dont give up man

0 coins

This isn't accurate. ESD doesn't deny claims as a "test" - they follow specific legal guidelines. Claims are denied when they don't meet the eligibility requirements based on the information provided. That said, many initial denials are overturned on appeal when additional information is presented or when the claimant clarifies misunderstandings about their situation.

I used that Claimyr service someone mentioned above when I was in appeal limbo. Got through to ESD in about 1.5 hours instead of days of redialing. The agent I spoke with actually helped me understand exactly what documentation I needed for my appeal. Totally worth it.

That's good to hear another positive experience with that service. I think I'll give it a try tomorrow morning. At this point, anything that helps me talk to an actual person at ESD seems worth trying.

UPDATE: I finally got through to ESD this morning! The agent explained that I was disqualified because they needed verification of my work separation. Since I didn't respond to the February letter (which I never saw), they automatically disqualified me. She said I can either appeal OR submit the separation verification now through my eServices account. I'm going to try uploading my documentation today and see if that resolves it without needing a formal appeal. Will update again when I know more. Thanks everyone for your help and suggestions!

That's excellent news! Uploading the documentation is definitely the faster route. Even if you end up needing to appeal later, at least you've started the process of resolving it. Keep us posted!

One time my payment went to my old address even though I updated my info. Maybe double check your contact info is current?

0 coins

That would only matter if they were getting a paper check. For KeyBank card deposits, the address doesn't affect fund transfers.

0 coins

Just to add a bit more info - ESD and KeyBank operate as separate entities. Once ESD shows "paid," the transaction is in KeyBank's hands. You can actually call KeyBank's unemployment debit card customer service directly at 1-866-295-2955 to check pending deposits. Sometimes they can see pending transfers before they're fully processed.

Update: I called KeyBank, and they said there IS a pending deposit that should be available by tomorrow! Thank you all for the help and keeping me from panicking!
