If I could give 10 stars I would

If I could give 10 stars I would If I could give 10 stars I would Such an amazing service so needed during the times when EDD almost never picks up Claimyr gets me on the phone with EDD every time without fail faster. A much needed service without Claimyr I would have never received the payment I needed to support me during my postpartum recovery. Thank you so much Claimyr!

Really made a difference

Really made a difference, save me time and energy from going to a local office for making the call.

Worth not wasting your time calling for hours.

Was a bit nervous or untrusting at first, but my calls went thru. First time the wait was a bit long but their customer chat line on their page was helpful and put me at ease that I would receive my call. Today my call dropped because of EDD and Claimyr heard my concern on the same chat and another call was made within the hour.

An incredibly helpful service

An incredibly helpful service! Got me connected to a CA EDD agent without major hassle (outside of EDD's agents dropping calls – which Claimyr has free protection for). If you need to file a new claim and can't do it online, pay the $ to Claimyr to get the process started. Absolutely worth it!

Consistent,frustration free, quality Service.

Used this service a couple times now. Before I'd call 200 times in less than a weak frustrated as can be. But using claimyr with a couple hours of waiting i was on the line with an representative or on hold. Dropped a couple times but each reconnected not long after and was mission accomplished, thanks to Claimyr.

IT WORKS!! Not a scam!

I tried for weeks to get thru to EDD PFL program with no luck. I gave this a try thinking it may be a scam. OMG! It worked and They got thru within an hour and my claim is going to finally get paid!! I upgraded to the $60 call. Best $60 spent!

Last thing - if you're union member, make sure to let your union know you've applied for unemployment. Sometimes they have additional resources or advice specific to your situation.

I'm not union but that's good advice for others reading this thread.

You've gotten great advice here! The key is just to start the process - don't overthink it. Apply online, file your weekly claims, do your job search, and ask for help when you need it. You'll figure it out as you go.

Good luck! Come back and update us on how it goes. This thread will probably help other people in the same situation.

Will do! Really appreciate all the help and support from everyone here.

The key thing is don't wait to file your claim. You can't get benefits for weeks before you actually file, even if your hours were reduced earlier. File as soon as you know your hours are being cut significantly.

Thanks for all the advice everyone! I'm going to file my claim tonight.

0 coins

Good idea! Make sure you have your Social Security number, employment history, and wage information ready before you start the application.

Last thought - partial unemployment can be a lifesaver when hours get cut, but remember it's temporary. Use the time to actively search for better employment opportunities. The job search requirements actually help keep you focused on finding something more stable.

0 coins

That's a good perspective. It's easy to get comfortable with partial benefits and not push hard enough on the job search.

0 coins

Exactly. The benefits are there to help you transition, not as a long-term solution. Use them wisely!

Success story: waited 8 weeks for hearing, won my appeal, got $3200 in backpay. Keep all your documentation organized and don't give up. The system is slow but it can work in your favor.

0 coins

This is exactly what I needed to hear today. Thank you for sharing your success story!

These positive outcomes help keep hope alive while we're all waiting. Congrats on winning your appeal!

Final thought - while you're waiting, keep looking for work and document your job search activities. Even if you win the appeal, you'll need to show you've been actively searching.

0 coins

Good point. I've been applying to jobs but haven't been keeping detailed records. I should start doing that.

0 coins

Yes, keep a job search log. Washington ESD requires 3 job search activities per week minimum.

One more tip - make sure you understand the difference between your weekly benefit amount and your maximum benefit amount. Your weekly amount is what you get each week, but your maximum is the total you can receive over the entire claim period.

0 coins

Good point. So if my weekly benefit is $800, my maximum would be $800 x 26 weeks = $20,800?

0 coins

That's the calculation, but remember it's also limited by 30% of your base period wages, whichever is less. Most people with steady work history will get the full 26 weeks though.

0 coins

The benefit amount also depends on when you file your claim because Washington ESD updates the maximum weekly benefit amount each year. Make sure you're looking at current year numbers, not outdated info from previous years.

0 coins

Good reminder. The 2025 maximum is $1,015 per week, but it was lower in previous years.

Just want to add - if your claim does get denied for any reason, you have the right to appeal. Don't give up if the initial decision doesn't go your way. Sometimes they get it wrong the first time.

0 coins

Good to know there's an appeal process. Hopefully I won't need any of this but I feel much better prepared now.

0 coins

Exactly. Knowledge is power when dealing with the unemployment system. You've got this!

Last thing - if you do get fired and need help navigating the Washington ESD system, definitely consider using Claimyr if you're having trouble reaching them. I was skeptical at first but it really does work for getting through to actual agents when you need answers about your claim.

0 coins

I'll keep that in mind. Really appreciate everyone taking time to help me understand all this.
