The benefit amount also affects your job search requirements. Higher benefit amounts might have stricter job search requirements, though I'm not 100% sure about that.
Just file and see what happens. All this speculation about benefit amounts doesn't help until you actually apply and get your determination letter. The whole process takes a few weeks anyway.
Good call. And if you have questions after you file, services like Claimyr can help you get through to Washington ESD to get real answers instead of guessing.
Just want to add - if you have any issues with your reapplication or need to talk to someone at Washington ESD, that Claimyr service mentioned earlier really does work. I was skeptical at first but it saved me hours of phone frustration when I had questions about my benefit calculation.
Whatever you do, don't wait too long to apply. I hesitated for a month thinking I needed to find another job first, but you can collect benefits while job searching. Wish I had applied sooner.
Since we're talking about getting help with Washington ESD issues, I should mention that Claimyr was a lifesaver for me when I couldn't get through to resolve an adjudication problem. If anyone is struggling with phone access, it's definitely worth looking into. They have a demo video that shows exactly how it works.
To wrap up for the original poster - you're going to be fine! The Washington ESD system works, it's just bureaucratic and slow. File your initial claim ASAP, keep detailed records, do your job search activities, and file your weekly claims religiously. Most people get through the process without major issues.
This thread is helpful. I was also confused about the exact timeline since there was so much conflicting info online from different sources.
One thing to remember is that even though pandemic programs ended, regular UI benefit amounts and duration can still change based on economic conditions and state legislation.

That explains why my estimated amount was lower than I expected. I got a big raise 6 months ago but it probably doesn't count yet.

Right, that raise would only count in next year's base period if you filed for UI then.
