If I could give 10 stars I would

If I could give 10 stars I would If I could give 10 stars I would Such an amazing service so needed during the times when EDD almost never picks up Claimyr gets me on the phone with EDD every time without fail faster. A much needed service without Claimyr I would have never received the payment I needed to support me during my postpartum recovery. Thank you so much Claimyr!

Really made a difference

Really made a difference, save me time and energy from going to a local office for making the call.

Worth not wasting your time calling for hours.

Was a bit nervous or untrusting at first, but my calls went thru. First time the wait was a bit long but their customer chat line on their page was helpful and put me at ease that I would receive my call. Today my call dropped because of EDD and Claimyr heard my concern on the same chat and another call was made within the hour.

An incredibly helpful service

An incredibly helpful service! Got me connected to a CA EDD agent without major hassle (outside of EDD's agents dropping calls – which Claimyr has free protection for). If you need to file a new claim and can't do it online, pay the $ to Claimyr to get the process started. Absolutely worth it!

Consistent,frustration free, quality Service.

Used this service a couple times now. Before I'd call 200 times in less than a weak frustrated as can be. But using claimyr with a couple hours of waiting i was on the line with an representative or on hold. Dropped a couple times but each reconnected not long after and was mission accomplished, thanks to Claimyr.

IT WORKS!! Not a scam!

I tried for weeks to get thru to EDD PFL program with no luck. I gave this a try thinking it may be a scam. OMG! It worked and They got thru within an hour and my claim is going to finally get paid!! I upgraded to the $60 call. Best $60 spent!

The Washington ESD website has a calculator for partial benefits if you want to figure out exactly what you'll get with different earning amounts. It's under the 'Calculate Benefits' section.

I'll check that out, thanks! It'll be nice to know what to expect each week.

Bottom line - you can work part-time and collect unemployment, just be honest about everything. Report your earnings, keep looking for full-time work, and you should be fine.

Perfect. Thanks everyone for the help! I feel much better about my situation now.

last thing - don't forget that unemployment benefits are taxable income. you can have taxes withheld from your weekly payments or pay quarterly estimated taxes to avoid a big bill next april

0 coins

Oh good point! I hadn't even thought about the tax implications. Thanks for mentioning that.

no problem, learned that the hard way my first time on unemployment. owing $3000 in april was not fun

Thanks everyone for all the detailed responses! This has been super helpful. Sounds like I should be looking at around $500-600 per week based on my earnings, which will definitely help while I'm job hunting. I appreciate all the tips about calling Washington ESD and the tax stuff too.

Glad we could help! Good luck with your job search.

You're welcome! The unemployment system is confusing enough without having to figure it out alone.

Military discharge status can affect eligibility too. Dishonorable discharge usually disqualifies you from benefits.

0 coins

What about other types of discharge?

0 coins

Honorable and general discharges are usually fine. It's mainly dishonorable discharge that causes problems with unemployment eligibility.

Back to the original question about hostile work environment - document everything! Keep emails, texts, witness statements, HR complaints, anything that shows you tried to resolve the situation before quitting. Good cause determinations are very fact-specific.

Thanks everyone for all the helpful information. I feel much more prepared now to file my claim and avoid potential pitfalls.

Good luck! And remember, even if you get initially denied, you can always appeal. Don't give up if you think you have a valid claim.

been through this process twice now (different job losses) and both times took right around 2-3 weeks for straightforward cases with no complications

0 coins

Okay so 2-3 weeks seems to be the normal range based on what everyone is saying. I'm at 10 days so still within normal range I guess.

The key is patience and making sure you file every week. I know it's stressful waiting but the system does work eventually. Just make sure you're doing everything you're supposed to do on your end while waiting.

0 coins

Thanks everyone for all the advice and timelines! This has been really helpful to know what to expect. I'll keep filing weekly and hopefully hear something soon.

0 coins

You're doing everything right - keep filing weekly claims and be patient. Most straightforward claims like yours resolve within 2-3 weeks total.

I exhausted my 26 weeks last month and it's been really tough. Make sure you have a plan for what happens after benefits end. I wish I had prepared better for that transition.

I would have started budgeting for zero income around week 20 and looked into all available assistance programs earlier. Also would have been less picky about jobs.

0 coins

This is exactly what I'm worried about. I'm at 20 weeks and feeling the pressure to take any job available.

0 coins

The bottom line is 26 weeks maximum for regular unemployment in Washington, but use that time wisely. Don't wait until week 20 to get serious about your job search. Start networking and applying broadly from day one.

0 coins

That's solid advice. I'm going to step up my job search efforts starting this week instead of waiting.

0 coins

Good reminder that I need to be more proactive. 26 weeks sounds like a lot but it goes by fast.
