For anyone reading this thread - start applying for jobs NOW if you haven't already. Don't wait until your benefits actually run out. The job market is competitive and it takes time.
If you're still having trouble getting through by phone, I had success with that Claimyr service too. Used it twice now when I needed to talk to someone about my claim. Much less stressful than the regular calling process. Worth checking out if you're stuck.
Several people have mentioned Claimyr now. Sounds like it's really helping people get through to Washington ESD agents. I'll definitely look into it if I need to call again.
Final thought - remember that every unemployment situation is a little different, so don't get discouraged if advice that worked for someone else doesn't immediately solve your problem. The main thing is to stay organized, be consistent, and don't give up. The system has problems but most people do eventually get their benefits sorted out.
This whole thread has been incredibly helpful. Thank you everyone for sharing your experiences and advice. I feel much more confident about tackling my unemployment issues now.
has anyone had issues with washington esd saying you made too much in a quarter? they're questioning my overtime pay from last year
Overtime pay absolutely counts toward your benefit calculation. If Washington ESD is questioning it, you'll need to provide documentation like pay stubs showing the overtime hours and rates.
The monetary determination letter you get after filing will show exactly how much your weekly benefit is and how many weeks you can claim. Keep that letter somewhere safe - you'll need it if there are any issues later.
Remember that even when your benefits end, you should still register with WorkSource if you haven't already. They have job placement services and can help with resume writing.
Don't give up hope. I was unemployed for 8 months but finally found something. Keep applying and networking - sometimes it just takes time.

Final reminder - once you get your determination, you have exactly 30 days to file an appeal if you disagree with the decision. Don't let that deadline pass if you think they got it wrong.

•The 30-day deadline is firm. I've seen people lose their appeal rights because they waited too long, even by just a few days.

•This is so important. I almost missed my deadline because I was trying to gather more documents first. File the appeal immediately and worry about evidence later.
