This whole conversation makes me grateful I never had to deal with unemployment. Sounds like a nightmare to navigate even when you legitimately need help.
Last thought - keep copies of everything! Pay stubs, termination letters, any communication with employers. You never know what documentation they might ask for during the process.
One more thing to keep in mind - if you have an appeal or adjudication issue that delays your benefits, it doesn't extend your 26 week maximum. The clock starts ticking from when you first file, not when you start receiving payments.
Unfortunately no, the 26 week maximum is based on your claim effective date. This is why it's important to file as soon as possible after losing your job and to respond quickly to any requests from Washington ESD.
Had to use that Claimyr service myself when I couldn't get answers about my benefit duration. Worth every penny to actually talk to someone at Washington ESD who could explain my specific situation instead of guessing based on forum posts.
Seems like a lot of people are mentioning this service. I might have to look into it if I can't get through to Washington ESD myself.
One more tip - if you think there's an error in your wage records or calculation, don't wait to address it. There are time limits on when you can request corrections, and it's much easier to fix early in your claim than later.
The 26 week limit definitely motivates you to take job searching seriously from day one. I treated it like a full-time job and was able to find something by week 18. Don't waste those early weeks being too selective!
For anyone still confused about benefit duration or having trouble getting answers from Washington ESD, I used Claimyr recently and it was worth it. They helped me get through to an agent who explained exactly how my 26 weeks were calculated and when they'd end. Sometimes you just need to talk to a real person to understand your specific situation.
Seems like several people have had success with that service. Good to know it's an option if I need direct answers from Washington ESD.

For anyone reading this later - remember that Washington ESD payment timing can vary slightly by bank, but Tuesday night processing and Wednesday morning deposits is the standard. If you're not seeing payments by Thursday, that's when you should start investigating. And yes, that phone service people mentioned (Claimyr) is legit - I used it myself when I had payment issues.

Hope your payment comes through tomorrow OP! Once you get in the rhythm of it, the Washington ESD payment schedule becomes pretty predictable. Just remember to file every Sunday and keep your job search log updated. Good luck!
