How to find PA UC claim case ID number on dashboard? Can't locate it anywhere
I'm trying to follow up on my PA unemployment claim but the representative is asking for my 'case ID' and I have no idea where to find it. I've looked all over my dashboard and account information but can't seem to locate anything labeled as a case ID. Is this different from my claim confirmation number? I filed my initial claim about 3 weeks ago and got a confirmation number, but now I'm confused about what they're asking for. Has anyone had to provide this information before? Where exactly on the website can I find it?

the case ID should be on ur determination letter if u got one. its usually a 9 digit number that starts with B. check ur dashboard under 'correspondence' or 'documents' tab, might be there. if u cant find it just give them ur SSN when u call, they can look u up that way too

•Thanks! I didn't realize it would be on the determination letter. I'll check my correspondence section right now. I've been trying to avoid giving my full SSN over the phone if possible.

The Case ID number is typically found in three places: 1. Your initial determination letter (starts with B followed by 8 digits) 2. In your online account under Claim Summary (listed as 'Claim ID') 3. On any official correspondence about your specific issues If you're trying to discuss a specific issue (like an appeal or overpayment), there might be a separate issue ID related to just that matter. These are typically found on notices related to that specific issue. If you can't find it anywhere, you can use your SSN and PIN when calling, but waiting times are extremely long right now.

•I've been trying to get through to PA UC for TWO WEEKS about my case ID!! They keep asking for different numbers every time I call and I'm so confused. One time they asked for claim confirmation number, next time case ID, next time issue ID. WHY can't they have ONE NUMBER that identifies us?!?

i had the same problem last month lol. turns out what they call a 'case ID' is actually just the claim ID number on your dashboard main page. its right at the top where it shows your claim summary. if u dont see it there, then u might need to look through your messages in the inbox section.

•Oh really? That would make things easier. I do see a claim ID on my summary page, but wasn't sure if that was the same thing as a case ID. The rep specifically asked for a 'case ID' which is why I got confused.

I work with claimants regularly and can clarify this. In PA UC's system: - Claim ID: Your overall unemployment claim number (shown on dashboard) - Case ID: Assigned to specific issues within your claim (starts with B) - Issue ID: Numeric code for specific disqualification or problem When a representative asks for your "case ID," they're typically looking for the B-number on correspondence related to a specific issue. If you're calling about your general claim status, the Claim ID from your dashboard is sufficient. If you're calling about a specific determination or issue, you need the Case ID from that specific document. If you can't find it, I recommend using Claimyr to get through to a representative quickly (https://claimyr.com - there's a video showing how it works at https://youtu.be/CEPETxZdo9E?si=WL1ZzVZWG3KiHrg2). They'll connect you with a PA UC agent who can look up your information using your SSN and other verification.

•Thank you for explaining the difference! That makes so much more sense now. I was confusing the Claim ID with the Case ID. I'm trying to ask about why my payments are delayed, so I'll need to find the specific Case ID on that letter. I'll check out that service if I can't get through on my own.

u dont need a case id to talk to them, just ur social and address for verification, thats wat i did

•That's not entirely accurate. While they CAN look you up with just your SSN, they prefer the Case ID because it directly links to the specific issue. Without it, they have to search through your entire claim history which takes longer and sometimes they'll just tell you to call back with the correct number (happened to me twice). Better to have all your info ready when you call.

I spent 2 hours looking for my case ID last week!!! It's NOT on the dashboard like some ppl are saying. The case ID is ONLY on the actual determination letter they mail you or that shows up in your correspondence inbox. Don't waste time looking anywhere else! And make sure you're looking at the right letter - each issue gets its own case ID so if you have multiple issues you'll have multiple case IDs!!

•Thanks for the heads up! I just checked my correspondence and found a letter about my claim being under review with a B-number on it. I'm guessing that's what I need. Appreciate everyone's help with this!

Just went through this exact same thing last month! The terminology is so confusing - I called 5 times and got different answers each time. What finally worked for me was logging into my account, going to "Correspondence" and looking for ANY letter that mentioned my specific issue (like delayed payments, eligibility review, etc.). The Case ID will be right at the top of that letter starting with "B". If you haven't gotten any determination letters yet, try calling with just your Claim ID from the dashboard - sometimes that's all they actually need depending on what you're calling about. Good luck getting through!

•This is super helpful! I'm dealing with the same confusion right now. It's so frustrating that they use different terminology and each rep seems to want different numbers. I'm going to try your method of checking the Correspondence section first before calling again. Did you find that the reps were more helpful once you had the right Case ID, or were the wait times still brutal even with all the correct info?
