TurboTax Filers Who Received Refunds - Did You Get The Email?
For those who filed with TurboTax this season and already received your refund, I'm curious about something: ⢠Did you receive a confirmation email from TurboTax after your refund was deposited? ⢠I'm trying to figure out if this is standard procedure or something new ⢠My original return was processed, but I submitted an amended return on April 10th ⢠Want to make sure I'm tracking everything correctly since the amended return will take longer Just trying to understand what communications to expect. Thanks for any insights!

TurboTax typically sends several types of emails throughout the filing process. I'd be cautious about making assumptions based on whether you received a particular email. Generally, you might receive: an acknowledgment when your return is accepted by the IRS, a status update when processing begins, and sometimes a notification when the refund is issued. However, these aren't guaranteed for everyone, and the timing can vary. I'd recommend checking your IRS transcript directly rather than relying on TurboTax communications for definitive status information.

ā¢Wow, I had no idea TurboTax had such a complex email system! That explains why I got some emails last year but not this year. Thank you for breaking this down so clearly! š

ā¢This is really helpful information. I was wondering why my sister got an email but I didn't. Turns out it's just their system being... well, a system. š No need to panic if you didn't get the same emails as someone else.

ā¢I've been using TT for like 5 years now and their email system is super inconsistent. Last year I got like 4 different status emails, this year barely anything. The IRS2Go app and the Where's My Refund tool have been way more reliable for me: https://www.irs.gov/refunds

ā¢Back in 2022 I got every single email in their sequence. This year I only received the initial confirmation after e-filing. My refund still arrived on time to the exact day predicted by my transcript. The emails seem to be completely separate from the actual processing system.

I filed with TurboTax in February and only got ONE email when my return was accepted. Nothing about my refund deposit even though I already received it weeks ago. So frustrating trying to figure out what's normal. I finally used https://taxr.ai to analyze my transcript and it explained exactly where my return was in the process and when to expect my refund. Saved me so much anxiety compared to waiting for TurboTax emails that never came.

ā¢Wait, is that site legit? I'm always nervous about using third-party sites with tax info. How does it work? Do you have to upload your personal information or something?

ā¢I used it on March 3rd after waiting 31 days for my refund. It just helps you understand what the codes on your transcript mean. No need to upload anything sensitive - you just enter the codes you see on your transcript and it translates the IRS jargon. Helped me realize my return was just in normal processing and not being audited like I feared.

Omg I was just wondering the same thing! Filed w/ TT on Feb 2, got my refund deposited last Thurs but NO email from them. Last yr they sent me like 5 diff emails. Super weird. Anyone else notice they're being rly inconsistent this yr? Need to know if I should be worried abt my amended return I just submitted too.

ā¢Have you checked if the emails might be going to spam or a promotional folder? Sometimes email delivery systems categorize automated messages differently. Also, did you use the same email address as last year?

ā¢IRS Form 1040-X processing is completely separate from the email notification system. Amended returns currently have a processing time of 16-20 weeks according to the IRS website. The lack of TurboTax emails has no correlation with amended return processing.

ā¢I believe TurboTax may have changed their notification system this year. It seems that some notifications might be appearing in the TurboTax account dashboard rather than being sent via email. Perhaps check there if you haven't already?

I received my refund on March 17th after filing with TurboTax on January 30th. The IRS Refund Status interface indicated "Refund Approved" on March 15th, followed by Direct Deposit on March 17th. TurboTax sent an initial Acknowledgment Email upon IRS acceptance, but no subsequent communication regarding the refund deposit. This appears to be standard procedure this tax season based on multiple data points from colleagues who experienced identical communication patterns.

I was in the same boat as you with TurboTax emails - way fewer than last year! After waiting for weeks with no updates, I was losing my mind trying to get through to the IRS. It was like trying to win the lottery. I finally used Claimyr (https://claimyr.com) and got connected to an actual IRS agent in about 15 minutes. Compared to the 3+ hours I spent the day before on redial hell, it was like night and day. The agent confirmed my amended return was in the system and gave me the actual timeframe to expect processing.

Did anyone receive exactly 2 emails from TurboTax? I got one when they submitted my return on February 6th and another when the IRS accepted it on February 7th, but nothing after that. My refund of $3,742 was deposited on February 21st (exactly 14 days later) with no email notification. Is TurboTax supposed to send a third email when the refund is actually issued?

TurboTax emails are like buses - sometimes three come at once, sometimes none show up at all. I've filed with them for 5 years straight and the pattern is never consistent. This year I got the acceptance email but no refund email, yet my money arrived right on schedule. Think of their emails as optional courtesy notifications rather than critical tracking tools - your refund is moving through the IRS system regardless of whether TurboTax tells you about it.

TurboTax changed their email system. They're sending fewer notifications. Many users report this. Check your spam folder. Look in your TurboTax account online. The message center might have updates. Your amended return is separate. Track it with the Where's My Amended Return tool. It takes longer. Usually 16+ weeks. Don't worry about missing emails.

I filed with TurboTax on Feb 3rd and here's what happened with emails: ⢠Got an email when TT submitted my return ā ⢠Got an email when IRS accepted my return ā ⢠Got NO email when my refund was deposited on Feb 24th ā ⢠Checked spam/promotions folders - nothing there ⢠Called TurboTax support who confirmed they've reduced email notifications Anyone else have this same experience? Just want to confirm this is their new normal and not something specific to my account.

I filed with TurboTax on February 15th and experienced the exact same thing as many of you! Got the initial acceptance email but absolutely nothing when my refund hit my account on March 5th. Last year I received multiple status updates throughout the process. After reading through all these responses, it's clear TurboTax has definitely scaled back their email notifications this season. It seems like they're only sending the critical acceptance email now, which honestly makes sense from their perspective - less server load and email delivery costs. For tracking your amended return, definitely use the IRS "Where's My Amended Return" tool rather than waiting for TurboTax emails. Amended returns are processed completely separately and take much longer (typically 16-20 weeks as others mentioned). The lack of emails from TurboTax won't impact your amended return processing at all. Bottom line: if you got your refund deposited, you're all set regardless of email confirmations! š
